Quite apart from the immediate area with its splashing weir, glorious birdsong, majestic deer and romantic tamed wilderness Mill House & Hare Lodge are destinations in themselves….nestled by the River Coquet, located a stone’s throw from all the sites and attractions of Northumberland, our accommodation is a complete tranquil idyll from which to escape the crowd.
After a day exploring the coast or the hills Mill House, a 16th century mill workers cottage and Hare Lodge, a newly constructed Scandi log cabin offer a luxurious lodges retreat with space both indoors and out to relax and unwind in private seclusion. They can be booked individually or together.
Beautifully decorated and furnished with serious attention to detail and a love of local art; en-suite facilities, sumptuous and comfortable beds, Egyptian cotton sheets, rainfall showers. Both properties have traditional log stoves and fire pits to cosy up by and reflect on your days activities.
There are lots of outdoor private sitting areas to sit privately and lose yourself in the birdsong whilst watching a Stoat, Hare or Deer on its own private mission. A welcome breakfast hamper is included in your stay so no need to rushing to get supplies on arrival. Both properties are cycle and walker friendly with your host, Karen, able to provide a secure lockable unit to store your bikes and your muddy boots in your own boot room. You can also take to the outdoor area at night and view Northumberland's dark skies where we have facilities in place for stargazing with our Dark Sky Friendly status.
Our returning visitors reminisce on their experiences they have had whilst staying with us and our reviews speak for themselves.
If you have any questions regarding the accessibility of our properties, please contact Karen.
