The OVO Energy Tour of Britain raced through Northumberland in 2019. The stage started from the centre of Berwick-upon-Tweed, crossed the Grade I listed Berwick Bridge and headed away along the Tweed Valley, onto Ford and Wooler. The route raced along the Northumberland Coast, past Bamburgh and Warkworth castles, showcasing the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
