Tee off on coast and country golf courses across the county, or play your way around mini and crazy golf courses with the family. We have true links challenges, nine and eighteen hole courses and courses fit to host the British Masters, which has historically taken place in Northumberland.
FAIRWAY FROM THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE
Northumberland is home to a vast range great golf courses, located in some of the most stunning and dramatic landscapes in Britain.
Our coastal courses are a delight, true links challenges like Goswick, Warkworth, Bamburgh Castle Golf Club, Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Course and Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, nestling just yards from our stunning beaches.
Both the European and Senior golf tours hold regular events in Northumberland and if you head inland you'll find championship courses like Slaley Hall and Burgham Park - home of the PGA North Region Championship - as well as a host of challenging nine and eighteen hole courses that dot the county. Tucked away in the the picturesque landscapes of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is Allendale Golf Club.
We believe we have a course to suit every level of golfer from beginner to expert and most are available to pay and play with minimal waiting even at the weekends. Green fees start at a very reasonable £15 per round and there are also a number of driving ranges where you can practice your swing.
In 2020 the British Masters returned to Close House, Heddon on the Wall, with former World Number One Lee Westwood becoming the first player to host the European Tour Tournament twice. Opened in 2011, the Lee Westwood Championship Colt course is set in almost 200 acres of beautiful Northumberland countryside. Designed by Scott Macpherson and named after English Golf Architect Harry Colt, the European Tour venue was voted one of the top 100 courses in the UK just one year after opening.
