Regardless of your budget or taste, you’ll find plentiful options for a delicious meal out in Northumberland. Whether it’s pub grub, a romantic setting, a family-friendly atmosphere or a fine-dining experience that you’re after, Northumberland has got you covered.

Local chefs and food producers are passionate about the home-grown produce that Northumberland has to offer. Fresh, salty fish can be ordered along the coast and organic, home-bred meat can be ordered in our pubs and excellent cuisine lies around every corner.

Mouth-watering food isn’t the only ingredient to a fantastic restaurant. It’s also about the dining experience and the ambiance that each restaurant creates, and Northumberland is home to cosy, atmospheric pubs, outdoor seating where stunning waterside views accompany your sea food, and magical eateries such as Alnwick’s Treehouse Restaurant.

Pubs such as The Hogs Head Inn, The Feathers Inn and The Lindisfarne Inn (just scroll down to see more) have a combination of stone wall interiors, wooden beams, fireplaces and rich, pub-classic dishes that showcase Northumberland's finest local produce and traditional meals. The Boat Inn Restaurant and The Commissioners Quay Inn perch on waterside locations, as the former sits on the shores of Kielder Water and Forest Park's reservoir, and the latter is positioned on Blyth’s Quayside. This means that both offer breath-taking water views that can be enjoyed through panoramic windows or from an outdoor terrace. In The Treehouse Restaurant at The Alnwick Garden, a flickering open fire takes centre stage, indoor branches are intertwined with sparkling fairy lights and rustic wooden beams and logs emanate a rustic, tree house feel. Those who are a little more adventurous can reach the restaurant via a wobbly bridge that becomes even more spectacular at night as fairy lights line the outdoor area.
