A Country Holiday Home and Cottage in Northumberland
Welcome to The Hall – a beautifully restored Georgian country house nestled within 22 acres of private grounds in the rolling foothills of the Cheviots. Just outside Alnwick and a short drive from the Northumberland coast, The Hall offers a rare opportunity to experience rural elegance with a homely touch. Discover the beauty of one of Northumberland’s finest private gardens and immerse yourself in one of England’s most peaceful and historic landscapes.

Ideal for family gatherings, celebrations, or shooting parties, The Hall sleeps 12 guests in six stylish bedrooms within the main house. A separate two-bedroom Stable Cottage can also be rented, bringing total accommodation to 16 guests. Dogs are welcome by arrangement.

Featured in The Evening Standard, Family Traveller, and Condé Nast Traveller, The Hall has become a cherished escape for those seeking comfort, character, and connection to nature. It also lies within one of Northumberland’s designated Dark Sky Discovery Sites – perfect for stargazing under some of the clearest night skies in England.

A Place Steeped in Charm
Standing proudly at the heart of its 18th-century estate, The Hall is framed by ancient trees, flowering meadows, and sweeping parkland. A listed ha-ha marks the edge of the lawn, beyond which the land stretches into the Vale of Whittingham — unchanged for centuries.

The Hall remained in the same family for over 300 years and is linked to the descendants of Admiral Collingwood, Nelson’s second-in-command at the Battle of Trafalgar. This rich heritage adds a unique depth of character to the house and its surroundings.

The house’s long history is matched by its warm, lived-in atmosphere. Guests are invited to slow down and settle in, whether enjoying a fireside board game, a candlelit dinner, or a peaceful walk through the walled gardens.

Elegant Living Spaces
The Hall offers three comfortable sitting rooms, each with its own character. Two feature open fires, one has a wood-burning stove, and all provide generous space to relax, read, play games, or host friends and family. A plentiful supply of estate-cut logs is included.

At the heart of the home lies a welcoming farmhouse kitchen, complete with a traditional AGA. Well-equipped and full of charm, it’s ideal for preparing hearty breakfasts or relaxed evening feasts. Just off the kitchen sits a formal dining room – perfect for special celebrations or long, sociable suppers.
