Famous for its fantastic fish and chips and as the launching point for boat trips to the Farne Islands, it has a busy main street and a colourful harbour with spectacular views of the Northumberland coast and in the distance the magnificent sight of Bamburgh Castle. The Seahouses Festival takes place during the Summer and celebrates the North Northumberland coastline and its wildlife and maritime heritage.
Community groups, artists and historians work with local people throughout the year on a variety of projects and events which culminate in the festival weekend.
