Now in its 27th year, the Great North Bike Ride is a 60-mile charity cycle ride along the beautiful Northumberland coast, from Seahouses to Tynemouth Priory.
The ride sets off at 9am from the Seahouses Tourist Information car park and follows the coastline south on the road, with a few climbs along the way. The best known is at Warkworth Castle, where many riders choose to walk. Riders can also join the route at points that suit their ability.
The ride raises money for the Chris Lucas Trust, set up in 2000 in memory of Chris, who died aged 18 from rhabdomyosarcoma. Funds go towards medical research into this rare and aggressive cancer.
