Very disappointed - stay in Berwick-upon-Tweed instead · Dog friendly · Expensive for a v basic motel. Food experience abysmal, took an hour for breakfast, 50 mins for starters. Everyone complaining! Run out of beer and Sunday evening had run out of most of the menu. As this hotel is used for visits to the holy island getting away on time to get the tide is imperative- people were having to leave without breakfast as it was taking so long. This hotel is a disgrace at £110 per night.

Good dog friendly hotel

Comman, Peterborough
Room quite a good size with a very large and comfortable bed. Bathroom OK but no towel rail/place to keep towels. Dinner in the main dining room made our choices and waited 55 minutes for starters, all 4 were delicious but by then we could have eaten anything, we then waited a further 45 mins for main courses, again very good. Cheese platters for desert took 30 mins. We asked for coffee with the cheese, it didn't arrive we queried with the staff member we ordered it from who replied "Oh yes I forgot all about that " she then went to the machine and made the coffee. Breakfast the following morning we waited 30 mins for ours to be served, another couple in the dining room had been waiting an hour and were about to leave when their breakfasts were delivered. Food very good when it eventually arrived both at breakfast and dinner but the length of time it takes is appalling.

Good coffee and quiet atmosphere

Had an unexpected drop in to here after an RTA at the junction left me shaken (and needing to contact car rescue services) The service was calm and unintrusive, which was much needed to address my anxiety. I really loved the old building and it's atmosphere. The coffee was perfect, though I wasn't up to eating, and the wifi definitely worked. Easy access from the A1 but please, please, take care turning in and out of this junction to get there!

Excellent restaurant

Called in while staying nearby, 4 plus 2 grandchildren & a dog. This place could not have been more helpful. Pointed out we could go in another dog friendly part which was really very nice. The service was excellent t, the food was superb & the value was very good. Well worth a visit if you can. Thank you.

Not impressed

Came in as a group of 5 including a baby, came in and got walked past a few times before being told can sit anywhere that's not reserved, asked for a high chair and got told they didnt know if there was any left but she will check. After about 5-10 and no sign of a high chair so had to go and ask again and the young man from behind the bar went and got one from upstairs which I thought was nice of him. Ordered our meals and drinks and got told food would be abit of a wait with it being busy which we guessed would be the case and was fair enough. However after about 20 minutes it died down a lot and was only a handful of tables in. One hour later and still no food the group behind our table complained on waiting times and they got their meal before us even though they ordered after. This resulted in my partner having to ask if our food would be any longer because our child was getting very hungry and worked up. Seen the staff we asked whispering to the bar man and then we got told it wouldn't be long theres just one more table in front of us. So with knowing we ordered our food before the group behind us so we assumed they forgot our order. 1 hour and 25 minutes later our food had arrived and they brung one the wrong plate of food for one of our friends and had to go swap it. The food was beautiful once we finally got it however one of our group had asked for beef and pork dinner and only got a pork one. The waiter after we had finished did come over and apologise for our wait which was appreciated. The staff were nice and food quality was nice but the wait time was ridiculous and this is the 2nd time in the space of a year or 2 my order at this pub has been forgotten about. Clearly something needs to change.
