Overview

The Inn has 18 ensuite bedrooms and is set amongst some of the most breath taking scenery in England, standing in the shadows of Steel Rigg, without doubt one of the most dramatic parts of Hadrian's Wall.  We serve locally produced, homecooked food all day which can be enjoyed in our bar, "Twice Brewed", our restaurant, "Sycamore Gap", or our beer garden.  Please see our website for further details.  Andy and Susan Smith, and the Team look forward to welcoming you to the Inn.

If you have any further requirements please do not hesitate to get in touch.  Large parties, functions or coach parties all welcome - booking not essential.

PRIVATE FUNCTIONS

We have nearly completed our private function room which will be available to hire from June 2016 for weddings, Christenings, Birthdays, conferences and much, much more.  Please contact us for further details.

What an amazing stay

David T, Orton, United Kingdom
The Northern Duttoneers Motoring Club stay here on the first night of our Annual spring tour. Having passed the Twice Brewed Inn many time over the years, I booked hoping it was as good as it looked. We were not disappointed, what a beautiful place to stay. We received a very warm welcome at reception and they had all our rooms ready. The rooms were well decorated and very clean with Tea & Coffee making facilities, our room had an amazing view of the fells. The evening meal was excellent with a wide choice on the Menu. The staff were very attentive and friendly. In the morning we had a leisurely breakfast and again it was faultless. A big thank you to all the staff for making our short stay so enjoyable.

Fabulous location on Hadrian’s Wall

Cazza1150, Stafford, United Kingdom
A group of four of us stayed here whilst walking Hadrian’s Wall Trail. Great welcome, clean and very comfortable rooms, excellent service and food. Good value for money and we hope to return. The showers were very welcome and nice and hot, beds were comfortable and linen was crisp and clean. As walkers we were concerned that we might not be welcome however the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We were able to leave our backpacks there for the day so we could explore the Roman forts nearby. Thank you so much everyone.

Disappointing

Nick T, Manchester, United Kingdom
This may have once been a nice country pub but it is now a failure of expansion over style, the restaurant is charmless and shed-like. The food was variable. The salmon cakes as a starter to share were tasty. I had sausage and mash which was quite acceptable but not great, my friend didn't like it much, two others had the vegetable casserole which they described as 'overcooked slush'. It may have been the end of a bank holiday was to blame for the lack of choice and poor food. Also it is not a lot of fun to eat in a restaurant while all the tables are being laid for breakfast. There is clearly a lack of accommodation and places to eat and so this serves a need especially for walkers but compared to other places along the Wall this place has expanded to pack people in but the experience has suffered greatly because of it. The wait staff were friendly and helpful though.

Lovely Time here!

CatrionaB1987,
Had a lovely few drinks in the Twice Brewed Inn alongside Hadrians Wall. It was to our surprise that this great pub had been refurbished and it looks great. We hope to visit again soon. We only popped in for a few drinks. But hopefully next time we will eat there. Great place!

No impressed

Catherine S,
Deciding to eat locally we arrived at the twice brewed at 4:40.. parking the car and grasping our car park tick in hand ... we ordered our drinks .. we were then asked if we would like to tab behind the bar we said yes as we planed to eat ... where upon we asked for a menu .. we were told that food is not served between 5 and 6 ... (really ... maybe they ment 4:40 and 6)... we then presented the afor mentioned parking ticket ... which clearly states ... redeemable at the bar..... to then be told if we handed it in with our next drink order it would be taken off the bill .... needless to say we left without food or a second drink ... !!!!!
