Guided Walks on Hadrian’s Wall

Hadrian’s Wall Highlights is our most popular walking tour. This experience combines a manageable 3-mile walk with big views, key Roman sites and the rare opportunity to walk on the Wall itself. Low-level alternatives and a relaxed pace make it ideal for first-time visitors.

Grand Day Out  is a full-day experience for confident walkers and hikers. The route links iconic sites, milecastles and hidden Roman features. Enjoy the  opportunity to cover more ground and explore less-visited sections of Hadrian’s Wall in depth.

Whistle Stop is our chauffeur-driven experience for guests who want to see more with less walking. With short strolls and time at key locations. Comfortable and engaging way to experience Hadrian’s Wall.

End of the Wall: Apocalypse Survival Tour is something completely different. This interactive, apocalypse-themed experience blends storytelling, challenges and Roman history. An alternative to a usual guided tour.  Playful and immersive 2-mile tour.

Women Walk the Wall is Curius Compass’s flagship women-only experience, taking place this September. This six-day / seven night guided experience  spans the full length of Hadrian’s Wall. A supportive and empowering way to walk the entire route. Relax in luxurious accommodation. Guests can fully  enjoy each day’s walk, knowing every detail has been thoughtfully planned.

Bespoke and Celebration Experiences on Hadrian’s Wall

Curius Compass specialises in bespoke experiences designed to celebrate life’s milestones. Birthdays, nuptial celebrations, and reunions can be marked with a fun guided walk enhanced by special additions. We can include local beer tastings, regional food sampling, restaurant reservations and transportation. We take care of the details so you can turn up and enjoy the day. We can also organise group challenges and fundraisers along the whole or part of Hadrian’s Wall.

We can design self-guided or part guided routes from the full 84-mile path to shorter sections, tailored to your timeframe, interests and walking experience.

We offer three levels of support, from independent explorers who simply want clear itineraries and trusted recommendations, to fully supported walking holidays. Every option includes practical trail guidance, seasonal kit advice, local insight and expert recommendations, all brought together in clear, easy-to-follow itineraries.

For those who want a fully supported experience, we can take care of accommodation bookings, luggage transfers, transport logistics, meal reservations, daily check-ins, 24/7 support and even guided sections, so you can simply turn up and walk.

Comfort, Inclusivity and Lasting Memories

We want everyone to feel welcome, included and confident walking the Wall. From first contact through to post-tour follow-up, we focus on creating a genuine sense of belonging. We are trained in Autism Awareness and Food Allergen Awareness, Level 6 Outdoor First Aid certification, and are proudly LGBTQ+ welcoming. As a small, local business, we adapt easily to individual needs. Routes are flexible, walking poles are available, and our guiding style is calm, visible and supportive. You’ll spot us easily on arrival — just look out for the tutus.

All guided tours include photos and short videos taken throughout the experience, shared afterwards as a highlight reel. Guests also receive a bespoke map of their route, allowing them to stay fully present on the day and take home a meaningful keepsake.
