It's time to wrap up warm, grab the sparklers, chomp on toffee apples and celebrate bonfire night with Northumberland’s spectacular fireworks displays. Follow up the fireworks with some stargazing as autumn marks the start of Northumberland’s dark skies season.

Fill your flask, pull on your gloves and pack your sparklers for an evening of fantastic fireworks, crackling bonfire displays and spectacular star-gazing.

Bonfire Night Northumberland 2025

Alnwick Fireworks will take place at a new venue this year on Saturday 8th November. The new home is Alnwick Town Juniors Football Club, which is organised by the Alnwick Round Table each year. Gates usually open at 6.30pm with fireworks due to the light up the sky at around 7.30pm. You can normally buy your tickets on the gate. This is always a night to remember with hot takeaway food stalls providing refreshments for the whole family.
 
Blyth Fireworks took place on Saturday 1st November from 4pm, with the fireworks display starting at 7pm. The event was located on the beach at Mermaid Car Park and included their fantastic annual display, along with food traders and a funfair.

Newbiggin by the Sea Fireworks will take place on Saturday 8th November with their annual celebrations which include firework displays, hot food and drinks from local food vendors and entertainment for all.

Morpeth fireworks returned to Morpeth Rugby Club on Sunday 2nd November, with the gates opening at 5pm and the bonfire lit at 6pm. Please keep an eye on their website for future events, including their 2026 display.

Further firework displays across Northumberland

  • Fireworks & Music is due to take place on Wednesday 5th November 2025 at Twice Brewed Inn, Hadrian's Wall. From 5.30pm, check their website for details.

  • Hadston Fireworks will take place on Wednesday 5th November on the field behind Hadston House Community Centre (NE65 9SR) from 4pm, with the firework display starting at 6pm. See their Facebook page for more information.

  • Embleton Bonfire & Fireworks takes place on Wednesday 5th November - bonfire lit at 6.30pm with fireworks to follow shortly after. See the following Facebook page for more information.

  • Elsdon Bonfire & Fireworks will take place on Wednesday 5th November - bonfire lit at 6pm with fireworks to follow. Please see the following Facebook page for more information.

  • Lowick Fireworks Display - Saturday 8th November at Lowick Playing Field (TD15 2UE), gates open at 6pm with fireworks launched at 6.30pm.

At many of these events parking is limited, so do consider the use of public transport. When planning which of the bonfire night events to attend check the organisers website to find out what time gates open and the fireworks start.
