Sanderson Arcade is a shopping centre in the heart of Morpeth. The Arcade blends with the beauty of a traditional English Market town with all the major high street names our shoppers love. It’s just a few minutes’ drive from the A1 off the A197 exit.
The Arcade was officially opened by Joanna Lumley in November 2009 and over the last nine years the centre has grown in reputation – becoming one of the most popular shopping destinations in the North East. The Arcade is home to more than 30 stores offering high quality retail including Marks & Spencer, Hobbs, Waterstones, Seasalt and JoJo Maman Bebe as well as some fantastic local independent retailers.
Sanderson Arcade also has some great places to eat or grab a coffee including Central Bean Coffee House, The Morpeth Larder and individually designed restaurant Barluga Morpeth.
In 2020, Sanderson Arcade welcomed Sandersons Boutique Department Store. Sandersons is owned by the Arcade developers Dransfield Properties Ltd and the company transformed the former New Look unit into a stunning new store which will stock a fantastic range of high quality and luxury brands.
The original Sandersons store opened in 2016 at Fox Valley in north Sheffield which is also part of the Dransfield portfolio.
The store was founded by Yorkshire businesswoman Deborah Holmes, who sadly passed away in January 2019. Deborah chose the store’s name in tribute to the link with Sanderson Arcade.
Deborah’s husband, Mark Dransfield now heads up the business and works with the Sandersons team to continue to build on her vision and create a completely unique retail experience. The new Morpeth store covers 8,500 sq. ft. and stocks womenswear brands including Holland Cooper, Barbour, Max Mara, Levis and Tommy Hilfiger. The menswear department will feature Barbour, Barbour International, Jacob Cohen, Gran Sasso, Tommy Hilfiger, Levis and Armani.
