Lack of Finesse

A return trip here knowing that last time we had a really good meal in beautiful surroundings and expected the same this time. I can only say that due to a couple of minor mishaps that the BCI has been downgraded in my eyes, and they need to keep their eye on the ball. The sea food salad arrived sans the salmon, and the lager shandy ingredients inadvertently was served with water instead of lemonade. Certainly it is easy to see how both these things happened, and because I wanted to eat my curry without it getting cold, and couldn’t get the staff attention, I had to forgo the pleasure of a meal without drink. Both of these niggles were resolved eventually, but it just turned the experience from potentially happy into something of a damp squib. It took time for my wife to realise there were no flakes of salmon in her salad, and get a pot delivered, and by the time I realised I had nothing like a shandy, i would have had to have let my meal go cold to rectify the problem. Normally I am the sort of person to keep quiet and just carry on, but I asked the bar staff to check, on our way out, and sure enough, the lemonade had run out and was issuing H2o. The food is what we went in here for, and both meals were very good once we got sorted.

Dog friendly pub in Seahouses - well located and with wonderful views

A good pub grub dinner - happy for dogs in pub and a lovely view over the harbour - always something to look at.
