Good bar meal, and a side order of dolphin!

Les H, Barnsley, United Kingdom
Had an evening meal here the other evening. Pleasant surrounding, pleasant staff, reasonable prices. Excellent view over the harbour, and yes, we did see dolphins playing outside of the harbour. We had the chicken and haggis and steak and ale pie, both were very nice.

Not impressed with the food or drink prices

Jackie M, Heysham, United Kingdom
During a week's holiday recently in Seahouses we made two visits to Bamburgh Castle Inn. The first was just for a drink. We had 2 glasses of house wine - £15 - far to expensive for house wine. But not deterred we returned later in the week for dinner. My hubby had liver and he said it was OK, I had steak and ale pie and it was far from fine. The pastry was advertised as shortcrust but in fact was actually presented as the nearest thing to wet soggy rubber that I can imagine. I didn't eat much of the pastry but what I did eat made me feel quite sick. Won't be eating or drinking at the Bamburgh Castle when we revisit Seahouses and area.

We visited the Bamburgh Castle Inn for drinks and a snack. Once again no complaints. Even though it was very busy, I was served at the bar straight away and the food was served very quickly. We've had lots v of food and drink and even celebrated family birthdays there and never had any complaints about the Bamburgh Castle Inn

Accommodation fit for purpose

Abelltown, Coventry
Stayed 2 nights. Room was clean, presentable and spacious. Breakfast could be better. I feel that if you come down a bit later you just have to have what is left. No sausages, eggs, ? Staff seem disengaged! Didn’t eat there in evening as generally do not like chain restaurants. Won’t be back that way so if you are looking for a room for a night that is clean and presentable then this will be ok .

Late lunch

Fab to find somewhere serving through the day on a Saturday - great portions (you should try the Fish Finger Sandwich!) and all partaken in a fabulous beer garden/terrace overlooking the harbour and the Farne Islands. We were lucky with the weather so we walked off lovely good with a long beach walk later. Worth a visit.
