Good, but could do better.

We stayed at the Bamburgh Castle Inn for 1 night during out visit to see the Puffins on Farne Islands and have had mixed feelings after our stay, some positive some negative. The positives are:- Views from the beer garden are spectacular, looking over the sea towards the Farne Islands. (a must do tour while in Seahouses). Our Garden room was clean and tidy. The evening meal was good and even though we were not given all of our order, we were offered free desserts as a goodwill jesture which we felt was more than generous compensation. All staff members were extremely friendly. The negatives were that our room was very small and we could hear a lot of noise into the early hours which kept us awake. The breakfast is buffet style, serve yourself, the problem with this was that when I requested Vegetarian Sausages etc. for my wife I was informed that what you see is what you get. There is no reception area, just a Till at the end of the bar where you check in and out. When you have paid well over £100 for the room a decent vegetarion option for breakfast and a receptionist would not go amiss. We still would recommend the Castle Inn due to its location, that is if you dont mind some noise while trying to sleep.

Dog friendly pub

This s a lovely pub it has a great beer garden with fantastic views to The Farne Islands. It is great to see that dogs are also allowed in the pub and beer garden. The food is great, Sunday roasts, sandwiches etc all of which are delicious. I would definately recommend a visit

Great for Sunday lunch!

This place is still as good as ever for Sunday lunch. This Sunday was particularly busy due to it being wet and chilly! Even for August. The queue built up just before 12 & it took about 15 minutes for us to reach the carvery. Great choice of well cooked meat, beef, pork and turkey and a good selection of veg. It was all lovely and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Wetherspoons food for restaurant pricds

Andrew T,
Whilst there was nothing wrong with the food, it was overpriced. Fairy basic pub grub. Same quality you’d get in Wetherspoons but double the money.
