The Joiners Arms is your very own village inn; a haven for lovers of fresh, locally sourced food served up with a contemporary flourish and drinkers of all tastes, from crazy cocktails to comforting real ales. Plus, we're big into families, so kids get to eat, rest and play with everyone else.
The Joiners Arms Restaurant is lively, friendly and a little bit quirky, and the perfect place to hang out when you're not engaged in spectacular coastal adventures or hiding out in your luxe Northumberland boutique bedroom.
We are located in one of the UK’s most beautiful places, in the heart of a National Trust-designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) which fuses the best of both worlds – spectacular countryside and a breathtaking coastal location just an hour from the metropolitan hearts of Newcastle to the south and Edinburgh to the north.
Our 5 Gorgeous boutique bedrooms are individually designed to put the luxe into luxury inns, with irresistible charms like four-poster beds, roll top baths and lots of room for love.
We’re only a couple of miles from the spectacular Farne Islands, famed for its bird life and Atlantic grey seals (boat trips from nearby Seahouses are wild and memorable!); Alnwick Castle and Gardens, home of the first two Harry Potter films; Holy Island, a little gem easily reached across a causeway (just watch the tide...), and some of the best surfing and water sports, golf, field spots, walking and country pursuits you could wish for.
We hope to welcome you to Northumberland’s most luxury Inn soon.

Extremely cheerful and helpful staff

Serving delicious food with a smile. What more could you want. Our thanks go to Tommy and Lindsey for coping so well with a larger than expected group and to Kyle for producing amazing food for us all. An easy recommendation to make for this friendly pub
Great roast dinner

We visited on a very very busy night. There were two big parties eating, in addition to the usual crowd. I'm not sure how staff coped. They were taking food orders, serving good, serving at the bar and checking guests into the rooms. Everybody was so busy. We found a table and ordered food, our waiter managed yo get our order in before the big table so we were served quickly. The roast beef was pink and perfect and the veg perfectly cooked. We really enjoyed it. But the staff all need medals for coping as they did without appearing flustered or bad tempered. I'm not sure I would have been so patient.
What A Gem

Staff friendly, helpful and attentive. Food absolutely fabulous. Great selection of drinks. Value for money. Recommend booking so not to miss out.
Take your time

We booked for a Sunday lunch. The gastropub was busy . We ordered and received our starters quite promptly but the wait for the main course was very long and the explanations were unclear. However the roast meals were plentiful when they did arrive but somehow did not come up to the standard of the "gastropub" level advertised. The ravioli dish seemed uninspiring. Staff were friendly and polite but I think there were problems in the organisation.
One more thing!
I’ve previously written a review of my recent stay but had to add an extra bit about the staff. April was absolutely awesome, so kind, and the bar staff and lovely girl who served us breakfast made our stay amazing. Wish I knew all of their names. Absolute masterclass in hospitality. We’ll be back! X
