The Joiners Arms is your very own village inn; a haven for lovers of fresh, locally sourced food served up with a contemporary flourish and drinkers of all tastes, from crazy cocktails to comforting real ales. Plus, we're big into families, so kids get to eat, rest and play with everyone else.
The Joiners Arms Restaurant is lively, friendly and a little bit quirky, and the perfect place to hang out when you're not engaged in spectacular coastal adventures or hiding out in your luxe Northumberland boutique bedroom.
We are located in one of the UK’s most beautiful places, in the heart of a National Trust-designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) which fuses the best of both worlds – spectacular countryside and a breathtaking coastal location just an hour from the metropolitan hearts of Newcastle to the south and Edinburgh to the north.
Our 5 Gorgeous boutique bedrooms are individually designed to put the luxe into luxury inns, with irresistible charms like four-poster beds, roll top baths and lots of room for love.
We’re only a couple of miles from the spectacular Farne Islands, famed for its bird life and Atlantic grey seals (boat trips from nearby Seahouses are wild and memorable!); Alnwick Castle and Gardens, home of the first two Harry Potter films; Holy Island, a little gem easily reached across a causeway (just watch the tide...), and some of the best surfing and water sports, golf, field spots, walking and country pursuits you could wish for.
We hope to welcome you to Northumberland’s most luxury Inn soon.

Not good :(
Nice food but very poor service. Staff are friendly enough, but on the day we visited... There was nowhere to park (only 4 spaces available for a 100-cover restaurant in the middle of nowhere, and double yellows throughout the village) We were sat directly outside the kitchen and weren’t able to be moved - very noisy, not really a suitable place for a table, especially with cutlery being polished and thrown into containers outside of the kitchen door (at least do that in the kitchen!) One guest was served a different bottle of beer to what was ordered (different beer, different size, and 3%ABV difference), and when queried the wait staff said that “this was the one they had in” from the brewery - much better to just come back and take an alternative order, especially at £6.50 a bottle. Then the replacement beer had frothed over on opening so less than 2/3 of it remained in the bottle when served. Ran out of horseradish sauce at 12:45pm on a Sunday, at a place renowned for its beef dinners. Too many times when we asked for something (drinks, the bill, etc) we had to chase it, which gets embarrassing after a while! Food really was nice, but a meal is about more than the quality of the food. When you get to the point where you have to stop complaining because the number of times you’ve had to do it already is embarrassing enough, you know this isn’t somewhere you’re going to visit again any time soon.

Group of us had Xmas Set meal Table not even set on arrival nothing Xmas about it . Food ok but no sauces on offer and restaurant very noisy with no parking nearby . Main course good but had to ask for extra gravy . Disappointing overall and would not go there again in the evening due to parking issues and no effort made re seasonal meal .
Excellent service excellent food

What a fab place. We had just visited newton hall and thought we would pop in for a drink and a roast. They were fully booked but Lyndsey very kindly managed to fit us in! Absolutely fabulous food and the service was second to none from Lyndsey, Kristina, April, Craig, Megan and Ollie! We will be back again!

We had a poor experience here a year ago. How things have changed - very much for the better. Bar meals for 8 at lunchtime. All excellent. Service friendly and attentive. Beer, wine, cider all excellent, as they should be. They are now clearly doing the simple things well. Easy to say but sometimes it's easy to get it wrong. Thanks to Chris and his team for looking after us so well. Much appreciated
