The north east’s award winning Matfen Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa has appointed Ringtons as the sole supplier of its hot beverages.

The deal will see the British tea and coffee company supply all teas, coffees, infusions and ancillaries for the 53 in-room hot drink facilities, luxury spa, Conservatory Bar, AA rosette Library Restaurant, The Keepers Lodge gastro pub as well as conference and private dining facilities.

Ringtons Beverages has also installed a Ringtons branded bean-to-cup vending tower in the venue’s popular driving range, and a state-of-the-art bean to cup machine in the golf club’s ‘19th hole’ The Keeper’s Lodge; ensuring Ringtons’ quality Fairtrade tea and coffee is served throughout the venue.

The move comes as the four-star hotel recently won gold status in the Large Hotel of the Year 2015 at the Visit England Awards, thanks to in part its owners’ Sir Hugh and Lady Blackett’s commitment to supporting local suppliers.

Ringtons was established in 1907 whereby it delivered tea to households in Newcastle, England via horse and cart. Although the horses have been swapped for vans, the company remains a family business and still offers a traditional doorstep delivery service to over 250,000 customers in the UK. Ringtons Beverages division has been operating for over 30 years as the food service arm of the company.
