Bamburgh Castle has announced it is reducing admission prices for visitors this summer following the launch of the Government's new Great British Summer Savings initiative tomorrow.
Designed to help families enjoy affordable days out during the holiday season the Government has reduced VAT on tickets to eligible family attractions and activities such as Bamburgh Castle.
From 25 June until 1 September 2026 a family of five can visit the castle for just over £10 per person. Families can save £7.31 on a family ticket, with prices reduced from £58.50 to £51.19. Adult prices will be priced at £17.46 from £19.95 while the new children’s admission price will be £8.75 instead of £10.00.
Karen Larkin, visitor services manager at Bamburgh Castle, said: "Understandably families are looking for ways to make their budgets go further. Days out and shared experiences are often one of the first things people cut back on when budgets are tight. We are pleased to be passing this VAT saving directly on to our visitors so they can experience a brilliant day out at Bamburgh Castle for less.
The Great British Summer Savings scheme also includes free travel on local bus services for children aged five to 15 throughout August making it more affordable for families to visit destinations like Bamburgh Castle by using public transport.
As well as entry to the castle's staterooms and nine acres of grounds, reduced price admission tickets include a range of free activities and events. Visitors can enjoy daily talks from expert guides, hands-on interactive activities and family-friendly experiences throughout the summer.
The new ticket prices at Bamburgh Castle will come into effect from 25 June, with tickets available online and at the gate. For more information and to book tickets, visit bamburghcastle.com.
