Join us for The Gaderung – a one-day celebration of Northumberland’s land, people, and traditions, co-curated with Local Heroes and in partnership with Visit Northumberland. Inspired by the ancient Anglo-Saxon festival of Lammas, this modern harvest gathering brings together farmers, makers, chefs, musicians, and storytellers to honour our region’s rich food culture.

Artisan Market | 10:00am–5:00pm
The Gaderung offers visitors a free open-air daytime artisan market of Northumbrian food, drink and craftspeople in the grounds of Ad Gefrin. Each stall will tell a story of local land and labour - from moor to coast, farm to table – inviting visitors to taste and take home a piece of the region. Think: golden jars of Northumberland Honey, the wild clarity of Hepple Spirits, small-batch pie makers and the rich, handcrafted character of Doddington Cheese.
Terry Laybourne chef/ proprietor of 21 Hospitality Group will be at The Gaderung representing his fish-focused restaurant Saltwater Fish Company (located in Fenwick Food Hall, Newcastle) showcasing Lindisfarne Oysters and other local deliciousness.
Experience a vibrant line-up of music, art, and storytelling on site:
· Ruby Kelly – emotive folk ballads from a rising voice rooted in the landscapes of Wales and the North East
· Elizabeth Liddle & Smith & Liddle – rich harmonies and retro-inspired sounds that blend pop, folk, and soul
· Coled Lore – joyful folk duo delivering upbeat guitar and viola tunes with traditional heart
· Hannah Graham – magical live storytelling and illustration for young audiences
· Jimi Dingwall – soulful house DJ spinning warm, groove-filled sets
Whether you come for the food, the stories, the music, or the community – The Gaderung invites you to reconnect with the rhythms of the land and celebrate the bounty of Northumberland.
