What is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare??? - William Henry Davies

Lorraine T,
Wonderful Weekend that totally exceeded expectations. We stayed in an Ash Premier Lodge and from the moment we stepped over the threshold - was overcome with a sense of tranquility - we really didn't want to leave. Amazing location, without exception every member of staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasurable. The reason for our stay, was to visit the Kielder Observatory - which due to overcast skies, we were not able to Star Gaze (the star gazing can only be done on clear nights which roughly is 48% of the year) but this really did not deter from a fabulous long weekend. Had an amazing Hot Stone treatment and the Segway Experience way a great way to experience Kielder Water. Our Hot Tub was cleaned daily and was super inviting - even on a cold November Evening.. We will be back! What is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare. No time to stand beneath the boughs And stare as long as sheep or cows. No time to see, when woods we pass, Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass. No time to see, in broad daylight, Streams full of stars, like skies at night. No time to turn at Beauty's glance, And watch her feet, how they can dance. No time to wait till her mouth can Enrich that smile her eyes began. A poor life this if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare

Amazing, yet again!

CMBarkerStokeOnTrent, Stoke On Trent
Our fifth year staying at Kielder lodges for the October break and yet again, cannot fault one single aspect of this holiday. We travel a lot and stay at a lot of campsites and usually comment on something that is not perfect, but not here. Beautiful accommodation (very well equipped), stunning views and surroundings, great observatory near-by (and great dark skies for star gazing), good amenities and top-notch customer service. We’d highly recommend to anyone and have already booked again for next year. Thank you Kielder.

Not for playing outside the Lodge

Carol M, Rotherham, England, United Kingdom
We stayed at the Straker Lodge in July and the holiday was just lovely but the one thing that I was so bitterly disappointed with was the front of the Lodge and that was the fact that there was nowhere for my Granddaughter to run and play outside brochure picture is of no way a true reflection of today!!! that was one of the main reasons I booked the Lodge was the freedom for her to run about!!!! They really do need to update the outside picture of how it looks today!!!! After we had unpacked we found a dead fly in the fridge the bath we moved the settee to find a dreadful amount of dead flies and a pair of someone's socks!!!! Previous to travel I rang and asked for the hot tub to be prelit and I was willing to pay the extra £10 as stated it wasn't lit!! The surrounding area was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful we even had the honour of seeing an Osprey on a couple of occasions. Lots to do the biking and walking is fabulous

Highly recommended

Stayed for 5 nights with my husband and 2 year old daughter. Booked a 2 bed lodge with hot tub. Lodge had everything you could ask for (and more). The facilities including bar with soft play and air pillow were a big hit with our daughter. The staff were really helpful and always available.

Autumn Delight!!

Joan B, Durham, United Kingdom
We stayed at this great resort in September 2018 - the lodge was very well equipped with a high spec and very spacious. We had lodge 49 which is pet friendly but unlike a lot of 'pet friendly' accommodation - it was on the same level as standard accommodation. The hot tub was a welcome stop after the long walks :) The resort itself is magical, tall trees, beautiful walks and the unbelievably beautiful Kielder Water - what more could you ask for. The Boat House pub on site is excellent - food is very good!! All of the staff on site are so friendly and nothing is a trouble. Check out the booklet with the lodges - there are quite a few 'extra' activities which are free to lodge users. Can't wait to return and we most definitely will.
