Summer holiday with friends

Denise R, Hamilton
We stayed last year in the hareshaw superior, but this year was the Platinum Willow BBQ and what a treat we got, the lodge was beautiful and so comfortable, a wine fridge was a lovely touch in the kitchen. The hidden en-suite within the fitted wardrobe in the main bedroom was fab. The BBQ hut was something so different and we had so much fun cooking and relaxing. The hot tub was maintained every morning and was a great way to relax. Food as always in the Boat Inn was fab, great choice and great quality, staff are so friendly and nothing is a bother. Louise in reception was a great help as i happened to mention on Wednesday that we would need more charcoal and on Thursday a bag of charcoal was at the front door. and Ryan and Tom are fab in activities. We went on the ferry and it was a lovely way to see the whole area. This place is a hidden gem and we will be going back. We made great memories with great friends and will again be talking about how great the area is

Quiet get away

Craig M, Thornton Cleveleys, United Kingdom
We wanted a short stay somewhere quiet but luxurious and this place fit the bill. The lakeside location is beautiful. We booked a Beech Premier Spa lodge and it was as advertised. The 2 bedroom lodge was very modern and had nice little touches such as welcome drinks and milk in the fridge. The Jacuzzi was great and cleaned daily by the staff. The lodge also has robes and slippers ideal for chilling out after a long day. We booked a slot at the pool and we almost had it to ourselves. The grounds have lots of walks and kids play areas to explore. We didn't visit the on site pub / restaurant but it looked good. You could park almost next to your lodge unlike Centre Parcs which made unloading and travelling much easier. All the staff we encountered were friendly. The reason for the 4 star rating is that on arrival the lodge was full of flies. Not sure if the cleaners had left the doors open or it was the previous occupants but it took a few hours to clear it! Also we didn't feel the lodge had been cleaned as well as it could have been. Otherwise great place to visit.

Brilliant holiday

spabeautygirl, Glasgow, United Kingdom
I have stayed at lots of lodges & this resort surpassed themselves.Reception where always friendly especially the blonde receptionist(who i have unfortunately forgotten her name)nothing was ever a problem & always smiling.we never had to leave the park as there is so much to do for adults & kids.Lots of free activities like a boat trip, use of swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room.Mapped out bike rides & you get a certificate & reward after which was a wispa gold & drink.Lodges where clean, good towels provided comfy beds.Liked the touch of leaving a selfie stick in the welcome pack in the lodge.Would highly recommended anyone to stay here.looking forward to going back.

Ideal if you want an active holiday

MaynardsinStone, Stone, England
We spent 4 days at this lodge park. It's ideal for those wanting to cycle, walk, or take part in water activities. The lodges are comfortable, Very clean, adequately furnished and have the necessities provided to make self cateringeasier, ie pots, pans, crockery, cutlery etc. The clubhouse and site shop was ok, but for us the downside was that to get anywhere you have to drive as there is nothing else around locally. Also our lodge was not supplied with wifi which was a bit inconvenient, but some lodges do have it, so check if that is something you need. Of note was the Cheviot Hotel in Bellingham which is a very welcoming pub and we had a fabulous meal there.

Amazing area! Beautiful lodges!

sarah_l_g_2007, Newcastle
We have just returned from a week's stay in the Platinum BBQ lodge on the Leaplish Waterside park which we booked via Hoseasons. I can't describe how amazing the area, the lodges and the staff are! The drive to the area is stunning and reaching the reservoir is a beautiful sight. The area is not commercialised at all and has a very relaxed feel to it with surrounding forests and of course the reservoir. We arrived a little earlier and was greeted with a glass of prosecco. We only had to wait a short while and our lodge was good to enter. The lodges are stunning! Lots of space (we were 6 adults staying), excellent sized bedrooms with double wardrobes. Milk, tea, sugar and midgie spray (an absolute must!) were left. A selection of board games too. Not all TV channels are tuned in but there is so much to do this is not even an issue! WiFi is OK - but again, go out and explore! The only thing I would suggest is an extra frying pan to serve up more breakfasts. Asda and Tesco deliver to the site therefore this helped us out loads as the nearest supermarket is a bit of a drive away! The shop onsite does have a good range of daily essentials. The BBQ hut was amazing - much bigger than expected. We were left charcoal and logs. Again, fully equipped with tongs and pokers. Perfect for the rainy days to sit round. We did activities which included orienteering, segways, mountain bikes and lots of walks - you can choose to do as little or as much as you want. Again, the go quest staff and bike hut staff were really friendly! I do recommend you download the activity book and get your bookings in. The Boat Inn is fantastic. The staff were friendly, the Sunday dinner is amazing. We were also treated to complimentary tapas night and buffet nights, an amazing gesture. The views when sitting in the beer garden is stunning! I can not wait to return to this beautiful part of England!
