Kellah Farm cottages provide 2 self-catering cottages on a busy working hill farm. Kellah has been a small hamlet since 1402 and has been farmed by our family for over 150 years.
Kellah is 4 miles from the " Centre of Britain" market town of Haltwhistle.

Both cottages are former miners cottages and we have recently installed a Bio-Mass boiler that provides heating and plenty of hot water for baths and showers. Both cottages have walled gardens.

Staying with us is an ideal base for exploring Hadrian's Wall country and the north and south Tyne Valleys.

The south Tyne trail which follows the partially used railway line passes over Lambley viaduct and is one of many interesting walks which can be taken from Kellah.

Red squirrels are frequent visitors to an oak wood on the farm and children can have hands-on experience of farming life by helping to feed animals and observe the day to day activities on a busy hill farm. Parents can join in to if they wish.

So welcoming

A really attractive setup here - a farm, some cottages and various buildings which apparently used to be the village of Kellah in days gone by but now is run by the family as a working farm and related concerns including, of course, accommodation of various kinds. We chose B and B for two nights and were not disappointed. Lovely room, nice views and such a peaceful setting. Not much light pollution here so lots of opportunity for star gazing. Owls can be heard at night and watch out not to run over the rabbits which abound. We were made to feel at home immediately. The breakfast choices were great and the food was excellent. Bonus - Table football in the lounge. highly recommended. You have to drive out to eat in the evening but there is plenty of choice within 15 mins drive.

A genuine farm B&B run extremely well!!

We stayed here two nights and found the accommodations and the breakfasts to be VERY nice. The owner, Leslie, will assist you with directions and dinner recommendations. It is about a 10 min drive to several locations on Hadrian's wall. The breakfasts are everything you can possibly want for an English morning meal. It is tricky to find initially, so call if you get lost. The farm is a working farm complete with sheep and cattle. I would definitely stay here again!!

2nd Visit

This is our 2nd visit to Kellah in 2 years. I would always choose to return here when visiting the area. Very welcoming B&B with the extra "finishing touches" that make it stand out from the rest. Nice size room with king-size bed and also a single. Nice en suite with toiletries supplied. Our room also had a little fridge. Pretty views from both windows in our room. There is also a large sitting room for the use of guests and a fabulous breakfast was provided. The country road leading to this B&B revealed the wildlife which surrounds it - rabbits and pheasants were sighted. Beware of the chickens which greet you in the drive! This B&B is also an active farm so you may hear the odd "moo" or "bahh"! Just down the road there is a small castle which is now an Inn and Bistro with nice meals and friendly staff.

Excellent B&B

Arrived mid afternoon to Kellah Farm which consists of various barns, outbuildings, cottages and the Farm making up Kellah and was welcomed by the family. Had a lovely big room with en suite shower and use of bathroom next door. Drying room available so good for Pennine Way walkers. Large lounge available for guests. Had a nice evening meal at a very reasonable price (there are no pubs near to Kellah). Excellent breakfast.

Superb all round!

Stopped here as a base for doing the Roman trail! It proved to be perfect-excellent location provided you are in a car and absolutely a top notch bed and breakfast 😎 Welcome was friendly and there was plenty of information about local places to eat out! The room was really lovely;clean and bright and very comfortable. Ensuite likewise and the little extras like hand cream and face wipes were very welcome! The breakfast was just right and it was nice to be served by someone willing to chat about the area. This puts a lot of hotels to shame and I would definitely book again if in the area.
