Overview

Kellah Farm cottages provide 2 self-catering cottages on a busy working hill farm. Kellah has been a small hamlet since 1402 and has been farmed by our family for over 150 years.
Kellah is 4 miles from the " Centre of Britain" market town of Haltwhistle.

Both cottages are former miners cottages and we have recently installed a Bio-Mass boiler that provides heating and plenty of hot water for baths and showers. Both cottages have walled gardens.

Staying with us is an ideal base for exploring Hadrian's Wall country and the north and south Tyne Valleys.

The south Tyne trail which follows the partially used railway line passes over Lambley viaduct and is one of many interesting walks which can be taken from Kellah.

Red squirrels are frequent visitors to an oak wood on the farm and children can have hands-on experience of farming life by helping to feed animals and observe the day to day activities on a busy hill farm. Parents can join in to if they wish.

So kind and helpful

ChuckPettis, Langley, Washington
We stayed here while walking the Pennine Way. Our lovely hostess was kind enough to take us to and from the nearby castle restaurant when no taxis were to be had. Breakfast was excellent as were her packed lunches. This b&b stands out among others.

Lovely place to stay

This was my first stay at Kellah Farm and it's a fine B&B. The location is very handy for Haltwhistle and the surrounding area by car and the B&B itself is well maintained and presented inside & out. Lesley & Katie are attentive without being fussy and we were treated to tea and biscuits on arrival. Breakfast was well cooked and there was plenty of information on things to do in the local area.

We stayed at kellah B and B for one night it was the most welcoming place we had stayed in. The room was fantastic warm well equipped and large bath towels. Breakfast was very appetising with lots of choice. Kate and her mum could not do enough for us. Would definitely go back.

Wow. Amazing.

alison c,
Loved every second of our stay. Fabulous room and facilities. The B & B is it's own building with communal facilities downstairs a large lounge with TV and fire then the breakfast room which we used when we bought fish and chips back, the kitchen you can use cutlery and plates and then the genius of a drying and boot room so no mud in the upstairs B&B rooms......our room named Chester's had plenty of room and storage and a lovely bathroom. Nice extra touches like soaps and body wash and drink making facilities....toasty warm and always hot water. Perfect breakfast full cooked or cereals, fruit, toast plus juices, yogurts and hot drinks...set us up for the day. Then to the setting of the farm (I was allowed to help bottle feed lambs!) It is simply stunning. Walked around seeing the animals and the views across the Pennines are so so beautiful. We loved Northumberland and visited High Force waterfall (over the border in CO Durham), drove over Pennines to it....then Vindolanda Roman Fort, then up to the coast to Bamburgh and Kielder Forest and water.....we noticed that, compared to the say the Lake's, how quiet it was and eating out was good value. We came away 2 days after finding out about a health issue for hubby so we were a bit shell-shocked (that issue seems to be OK and hopeful not as bad as first thought.. ) and this trip was just what we needed we enjoyed every second and for us the best B&B we have stayed at. We will certainly be back. Well done Kellah and thank you.
