A great place on the Military Road

Dani G,
Popped out for a drive today to beat mid-Christmas holiday boredom, and decided to head to twice brewed for lunch. It’s not the first time we’ve been here, and once again the menu had ample choice for our family. The service was efficient and the staff are lovely. Lunch was really good - three chicken and bacon burgers, steak and ale pie, and a children’s sausage and mash (which was a really decently sized portion!). We will most definitely return as we love heading out along this beautiful part of Northumberland! I would most definitely recommend.

Great Inn amongst great scenery.

Stayed overnight and wasn’t disappointed in any way. A stunning location on the very edge of the Roman Empire just a 15 minute walk to see the famous sycamore gap on Hadrian’s Wall. Our meals were first rate supplemented by local ales. Our room was spotless and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

Delicious dinner

Enjoyed an excellent Sunday dinner at the Twice Brewed. Fantastic setting in the middle of Hadrian's Wall, and a fresh, modern and cosy feel indoors. The inn is warm and welcoming, with friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed a really spot-on Sunday roast at really reasonable prices. Half-portions are a generous size and a bargain too. The veggie roast was fantastic, and there were other veggie-friendly options too, which is a real pleasure in a traditional country pub. Can't wait to return!

Very nice stay

Amhranai, Waterloo, Canada
We stayed here for three nights in November 2018 and it was a really nice stay. The bed was comfy, and the room was very quiet (which was a welcomed changed after staying in a city for days before this). Even with the pub downstairs, we had a lovely quiet room. The rooms all have roman themed names, and its ideally located to visit several sites along Hadrians wall, either on foot or by car. I would easily choose to come back here if I was visiting Hadrian's wall again. The room set up was odd, but worked ok. There is a long hallway, off of which was space to hang clothing, the bathroom was off of it as well, and it led to the bedroom area which had a few steps down into it. The downside was that there really wasn't any good place to put down and open up our suitcases, which makes a longer stay a bit more awkward. I would have also appreciated another shelf in the washroom for our toiletries. The bath was a delight, and a great soak was had after a long day of hiking! The wifi in our room was not good, which was really unfortunate when all you want to do is lay on the bed and catch up. The wifi worked better in the hallway by the door to our room, and we even ran into another guest standing in the hallway outside his room to catch a signal. It would be nice if they could find a way to boost their signal. We watched a family funeral online while sitting on the floor by our doorway, which wasn't ideal. The only thing I would really ask them to consider changing is the "emergency" light in the small hallway of the room. I was really looking forward to a dark room in the countryside, but instead the room was filled with a green light that made it harder to sleep. There was no way to turn this off. I've seen them in other hotels but OUTSIDE the bedrooms, not inside. It was truly annoying. The pub downstairs is nice. It gets a bit noisy, but inn guests also have a dedicated dining room which was great. The beers are FABULOUS! They brew their own roman-themed beers on site and they were definitely a treat. Their Sunday roast was also amazing The staff was also amazing and accommodating. I'd definitely come back (but probably find something to cover the emergency light if I did!)
