Overview

The Joiners Arms is your very own village inn; a haven for lovers of fresh, locally sourced food served up with a contemporary flourish and drinkers of all tastes, from crazy cocktails to comforting real ales. Plus, we're big into families, so kids get to eat, rest and play with everyone else.

The Joiners Arms Restaurant is lively, friendly and a little bit quirky, and the perfect place to hang out when you're not engaged in spectacular coastal adventures or hiding out in your luxe Northumberland boutique bedroom.

We are located in one of the UK’s most beautiful places, in the heart of a National Trust-designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) which fuses the best of both worlds – spectacular countryside and a breathtaking coastal location just an hour from the metropolitan hearts of Newcastle to the south and Edinburgh to the north.

Our 5 Gorgeous boutique bedrooms are individually designed to put the luxe into luxury inns, with irresistible charms like four-poster beds, roll top baths and lots of room for love.

We’re only a couple of miles from the spectacular Farne Islands, famed for its bird life and Atlantic grey seals (boat trips from nearby Seahouses are wild and memorable!); Alnwick Castle and Gardens, home of the first two Harry Potter films; Holy Island, a little gem easily reached across a causeway (just watch the tide...), and some of the best surfing and water sports, golf, field spots, walking and country pursuits you could wish for.

We hope to welcome you to Northumberland’s first 5* Coaching Inn soon!

The Jewel of the North East

BandMa, Manchester
Please TripAdvisor I want to give 6 stars. From the moment we walked into the bar we were made to feel welcome. Check in for rooms is at the bar as at first we were looking for a reception. We were greeted with warm smiles and promptly asked if we would like a drink from the bar until the staff member was free to check us in. Once we did this we were then told the drink was complimentary, what a nice touch. We were in Sandlewood Room - the room is really big and comfortable, luxurious decor and lovely big shower. The hotel again surprised us with a complimentary cocktail in the room too. What a great start to relax and unwind. I thought the telephone call the night before we arrived was a nice gesture and also to check if we required a table for the evening as it does get busy and we arrived on Monday. The food in the evening was gorgeous - the fish is truly the best ever! Drinks at the bar is nice and varied and we would also recommend the Malbec. Loved our visit and can't wait to return and hopefully get one of the other rooms next time.

Best ever chips!

veronica128, Salisbury, United Kingdom
End of holiday lunch & it didn’t disappoint. Hubby had fish & chips which was large enough even for his appetite. I had the tempura king prawns & chips which wasn’t even frowned at as a main course. Nicest king prawns & best chips I had ever had, which is not an exaggeration!

sunday lunch

alanoscar120, Ascot, United Kingdom
Sunday lunch was very disappointing, Started with a sea food platter that I can only say must have come from Iceland;s , frozen prawns ,more salad than sea food, don't know how they can call it a sea food platter, , waited nearly an hour between starters and main course, When we asked where our order was we were told ;thought you had had you food, when it arrived it was cold, the only thing that was hot was the gravy in a jug, very disappointing meal, won't bother eating there again, pub décor looks like a lot of scaffold boards nailed to the wall and ceiling,

Rubbish

opin8, London, United Kingdom
Ordered the fish finger stottie and chips. Stottie not buttered, grease pouring out of chips and fish, felt sick for hours after. Waste of my time, money and effort. Had to go to till to pay because service was poor.

Great Sunday lunch, but......

Wadey57, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
Enjoy a great Sunday lunch here, perfectly cooked, and thoroughly enjoyed by us all, with only one minor drawback..... This is a dog friendly place, and we have no objections to this, but as we do not have a dog, thought we would be in the rear non-profit area, but no we were at the front with the various dogs. Whilst most were very well behaved, it was somewhat difficult to Enjoy with a snapping snarling terrier at my feet that the owners were reluctant to do anything about as they were busy eating. They did pick the dog up once they finished, but all that did was get there dog off the floor. The restaurant is great and we will go back, but when we book will insist on being in the 'dog free' section, where at least we can eat in comfort.
