Outstanding

This farm is very well layed out and packed with things to do. We live in Scotland and there is nothing even close to this up there which is a massive shame. We have never been anywhere as good as this as you get the chance to really get up and close with the animals. Please find a farm near to Edinburgh you will be packed !!!

Disappointed

jenNewcastle, Newcastle, England
A return visit with our 2 grandchildren aged 5 and 3. Our previous visit was 8 years ago with our grandaughter aged 4. On a positive the staff were welcoming and helpful. Our programme indicated that the first small pet handling session was at 11a.m. Perfect as we arrived at 10.50. We made our way straight over to the shed where the event was to take place, picked up 2 chairs and a mat for our grandchildren, to be told this was just for a school visit. We were directed to an area further along the shed expecting an additional pet handling session but no, it was stick insects, cockroaches etc. The next session was to take place at 1.15 again another school session but they did put on a smaller version for the general public. The tractor ride is very underwhelming, one circuit round a field full of sheep. They could make much more of this with the variety of animals they have in the surrounding fields. We were unable to enter the cowshed as it was blocked off with hay bales so the only shed open was the pig shed. The slide is no longer there instead several trampolines with clear instructions one child at a time. The soft play area is excellent as are the many picnic spots. Perhaps we were unlucky visiting in June when many schools have trips but for the cost which was around £38 I expected more.

Great place for all to visit. Handling of animals is great for younger visitors. All staff made everyone welcome.

Full Day of Fun

Marie L, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
We filled a full day with activities that included visiting the farm animals and being able to feed them, then we headed to the park for some more fun (there a 2 different ones to choose from) and also an indoor play area. After playing we hoped onto the tractor ride which the kids loved! Then we headed go the petting area where we got the stroke the rabbits, guinea pigs, snakes egg. We then headed out to see more animals thr included the owls, deer and Emu's. All in all it was a lovely day and there are also indoor picnic facilities available, perfect when visiting on a particularly windy day. There are cafe facilities available that looked to have a decent choice but quite expensive, a bottle of pop started at £1.55! Worth a visit but take your own good and drink.
