kellydickinson, Newcastle and Gateshead, United Kingdom
It was my first time visiting this farm i came with my 13 year old and a friend with her son. We arrived not long afer 10am. My ao s favourite thing was the ride along tractors. Magic Steve was great fun. There was always something going on. Lamb feeding was a must on our to do list, along with playing in the park and looking at all the animals. Staff where very helpful. Its disability friendy which ia a must for my family. Will visit again very soon.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the farm centre. Absolutely loads of animals to see and interact with. Our favourites were the alpacas and the deer. A great time.

Amazing place!

partofthepackdogwalk,
I visited Whitehouse farm many times throughout my childhood up until the age of around 14, and I did my work experience there when I was 16. Yesterday, I went back for the first time in 5-6 years and I had an amazing day. If you love and actually respect animals, and if you have kids and want to teach them to do the same, it’s the place to be. Prices are fair considering the fact that it opens at 10:00 and shuts at 17:00 and you could stay all day if you chose to. It’s very interactive with you being able to touch/hold/feed almost all of the animals there including, goats, donkeys, sheep, alpacas, llamas, horses, ponies, fallow deer, cows, calves, lambs, kids, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, chicks, snakes, lizards, and insects. They also have meerkats, parrots, marmosets, tortoises, wallabies, emus, and birds of prey. Long list. My friend and I spent the first two hours outdoors feeding and spending time with the larger animals, then spent around 30 mins (ideally would have spent a lot longer. Will go for when it opens next time) in the barn with the smaller animals, then we bottle fed lambs and calves for around 45 mins. The staff where friendly and easy going, but responsible and attentive to the animals in their care. Very important. Prices are fair considering the fact that it opens at 10:00 and shuts at 17:00 and you could stay all day if you chose to. If you have kids, they have also recently built a huge play park (you’ll see it when you come into the car park), and in the farm itself near the top barn, they have trampolines, a couple of small bouncy castles and then two huge inflatable, bouncy...things...which are really fun to play on. I may be 23 but you’re never too old to have fun. And all of the things I mentioned above are free. We didn’t manage to find the time to eat in between spending time with all the animals, but from what I recall last time I was there, they have a decent selection of hot and cold food and the cafe itself is clean, and well heated. Think that covered everything. Honestly can’t recommend enough! If you love animals, you’ll love it. Go!

Absolutely recommended!

sarah d,
Visited on a cool sunny day in May with my family (3 adults and a 16 month old) So glad we came - so much to see and do. Positives - ample parking - nice gift shop - tons of friendly animals (that you can pet and feed) lambs, cows, birds of prey, emus, rabbits, birds, goats, ponies and more! Staff are knowledgeable and on hand to answer questions and encourage interactions with the animals - two excellent large outdoor parks with swings, slides etc - four bouncy castles, three trampolines and two inflatable pillows for kids to bounce on and have fun (lots of giggles from our 16m old here!) - live demonstrations (feeding animals, birds of prey etc) and tractor rides 3x per day - large indoor play area (separate space for under 3’s) - cafe, ice cream bar, snacks etc and picnics allowed in designated areas. - buggy and wheelchair friendly, clean, tidy, well maintained, plenty of seating, shade, toilets and baby change areas. Negatives - pretty hard to find! Sat nav got lost repeatedly and 3 road closures meant we had to ask for directions a few times - good value in the summer due to excellent outdoor space but may be a bit pricey in the winter - farm open until 5pm but cafe was closing / no food left at 3pm All in all I absolutely recommend the farm! It was a lot of fun and good value!

My little man is superhero obsessed so what better day to visit then superhero weekend we enjoyed our day at the farm and loved the new additions to the play park Only negative was the cafe I had the Yorkshire pudding special and it was served luke warm so by the time we had found a table and and settled my food was cold would have been nice if it was served piping hot!!!
