Falstone tourist information

Circled by the enchanted woodlands of Kielder Water & Forest Park, the village of Falstone is less than a mile from the great reservoir itself with its raft of exciting water sports and activities.

The Heart of Northumberland from Cain Scrimgeour on Vimeo.

For children – and those young at heart – Falstone’s epic play park is a must-visit attraction. Playing out across 1.5 acres, it’s a child’s dream adventure park with fun-generating activities from an aerial zip wire run way, tennis courts and bouldering to willow igloos, carved wooden animals plus swings and slides too.

Take a family stroll around the Riverside path and look out for the mysterious 18th century gravestone of a girl holding hands with a skeleton in the churchyard.

The annual Falstone Border Shepherds Show is a celebration of traditional rural Northumberland life. Enjoy a mix of sheepdog trials, agricultural classes and local food and crafts at this classic Northumberland event.

The dark skies above Falstone are so deep and so black that Northumberland National Park along with Kielder Water & Forest Park and Kielder Observatory Astronomical Society are bidding to become Europe’s largest Dark Sky Park.
