Whittle Dene Reservoir House is a unique grade II listed house, bursting with character and luxury, overlooking the tranquil waters.

The house sleeps up to 6 people with one king sized bedroom with an ensuite, one double with a dressing room and one twin. It is the ideal stay for family, friends or a special occasion. We also welcome up to two dogs, with this gorgeous remote location, they will love to explore the countryside with you!

The reservoir is set in the beautiful Northumberland countryside and is the perfect place for a quiet day of coarse fishing. Lovers of the outdoors will enjoy the extensive nearby walks, including sections of the Hadrian’s Wall, perhaps relax for a bite to eat at the picnic area next to the bird hide. The area is also a nature reserve and perfect for bird watchers, with an array of wildlife amidst beautiful scenery for keen walkers and cyclists. Hadrian’s Wall is easily reached, and affords some of the most spectacular scenery in all of England. Discover the famous Vindolanda Roman fort, The Sill Landscape Discovery Centre and Chesters Roman Fort and Museum

For keen golfers there are some excellent courses nearby at Matfen, Slaley, and Close House, previous host to the British Masters, only a short drive away. Less than an hour’s drive will take you to Kielder Water and Forest Park, with an abundance of walking routes, mountain bike trails, a bird of prey centre, an observatory, and a host of other activities. A visit to the historic market town of Hexham is recommended, with stunning abbey, the oldest gaol in the country and an abundance of eclectic shops, restaurants and pubs. Continue to the beautiful Roman town of Corbridge and meander round its boutique shops, galleries, and antiques or take a riverside stroll. The golden beaches on the Heritage Coast are also within easy reach and make a lovely day out. The vibrant city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne is also only a 25-minute drive. Shop 41/2 miles, pub and restaurant 3/4 mile.
