Alwinton, Copper Snout and Shillmoor: Guided Walk
Sunday 22 November 2026 | 10.30am | Alwinton National Park car park, NE65 7BQ
Explore the remote hills of the upper Coquet Valley on this guided walk with Northumberland National Park, through country steeped in tales of illicit whisky stills, ancient trade routes into Scotland and the Border Reivers.
The 8-mile circular walk heads west from Alwinton along the road, then joins a bridleway towards Shillmoor before turning north to Copper Snout and Saughy Hill. It returns along the old drove road of Clennell Street back to Alwinton, with wonderful views of the Cheviot range along the way.
