Electric Bike Network

Cycling made easy...

Cycling around Northumberland is the perfect way to take in the breath taking views and truly embrace the glorious scenery that the county has to offer. What better way to enjoy all of this beauty than by jumping on a bike and experiencing it first hand; glide across the rolling hills, sail along the coastal cycle paths and explore our historic towns on the freedom of two wheels, rather than being stuck behind the wheel! With the launch of two Electric Bike Networks there are now even more ways to get on your bike, get out and explore.

Exploring the Northumberland Coast couldn’t be easier with the fleet of electric bikes that are available to hire from shops in Alnwick and Seahouses. For £25 per day you can explore the dramatic coastline of Northumberland on these specially designed electric bikes which provide you with an extra boost each time you pedal, making your adventure that little bit easier. Soft saddles, a step through option and pannier racks are available to hire too, making a day out on these electric bikes a breeze. With the added option of having the bike delivered to your accommodation, it really couldn’t be easier to explore the coast, which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, by electric bike.

Visitors also have the opportunity to explore the tranquil North Pennines by electric bike and ‘let the chain take the strain.’ Helmets, locks, chargers, pannier bags and route maps are all provided when you hire an electric bike for £25 per day or £15 per half day. 11 hire points are located across the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, giving even more opportunity to take to the stunning landscape by bike.

Kielder is a haven for mountain bikers, but if you want to take in the scenery from the roads or meander along the Lakeside Way multi-user trail, you can hire an electric bike from the Bike Place next to Kielder Castle

Travelling by bike is a not only good for you but it’s good for the environment and offers you a healthier and cleaner way to travel. There are a range of free downloadable cycle routes available online to help you embark on your cycling adventure around Northumberland; or why not pop into one of our Tourist Information Centres and take a look at their extensive selection of maps and routes.
