The new, award-winning Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre is one of the best wildlife watching spots in the North East. Built by volunteers, it’s a story in itself, but the wildlife is fantastic, a haven for breeding and migrating birds, red squirrels and even otters! There’s a café to enjoy a brew with a view, discovery trails, bird hides, pond dipping, a circular walk and a natural play area for the under 10s. We run adult learning workshops, family activities and school programmes - check out what's on from the website: https://www.nwt.org.uk/get-involved/events-and-activities
Please visit our other reserves along the coast: www.nwt.org.uk/nature-reserves/
Car parking available on site, suggested donation £2.
There are good paths leading to all hides and a circular walk around the reserve. The Centre is accessible for wheelchairs and mobility scooters and there is an accessible route to 2 hides.
Dogs (except assistance dogs) are not permitted at the Centre (to avoid disturbing wildlife), but there is a path down to the beach for dog walkers.
Near Low Hauxley village, at the northern end of Druridge Bay. Signed turn off the A1068 south of Amble.
