We loved the place and in turn they loved us back

Graham A,
Fantastic reception from genuinely warm and friendly people. Carrol was just fab. We booked the night before a family wedding, so there were multiple rooms to sort out and a family meal of 22+ which included great, hot food. Throughout the jollities and chaos we were made to feel very special. We had a fab time and everyone said they will visit again. Wholeheartedly recommended.

An excellent place to stop for a meal if travelling on the A68.

The food and service is first class. The menu is outstanding as it contains local dishes made with local produce. I sampled dishes that I had long forgotten. On a sunny day you have excellent views out over the local fells whilst enjoying your meal. They also have a good local beer for those who aren't the driver.

I would definitely go back

The Redesdale Arms was a perfect spot for exploring Northumberland. This was my first trip to the UK. The area is beautiful, the people at Redesdale Arms are welcoming and easy to be with, and the food is excellent.

3 day break on the English/Scottish borders

Carole J, Cambridge, United Kingdom
My husband and I had a 3 night stay at The Redesdale Arms in July and were very pleased with the accommodation, breakfast and evening meals. It is a typical countryside Inn and is furnished accordingly with beautiful blue tartan style carpeting to hall and lounge areas. Dining room to side is wood floor and used for breakfast or additional seating area for eating when using bar area. We ate in the lounge bar area each evening. As we intended doing a lot of walking in the area, Carrol & Mark were happy to make up a packed lunch for us. They have books and maps and are very helpful with suggestions of places to go. All the staff were friendly and helpful. There is a wide staircase with a stairlift installed for those with disabilities. I noticed there was a bus stop right outside should anyone need it. Many people were stopping by for breakfast and lunch and evening meal even if they were not staying overnight. There is a small shop/ post office just a short drive along the road for essentials if needed. . An excellent venue from which to visit Keilder valley lake, Skyspace and Observatory, walking and cycling on off road tracks up from the lake or local walking in the Cheviot hills and visiting Hadrians wall. It is situated on the English/ Scottish borders should you wish to venture north. We didn't realise what an ideal spot this was to visit so many places for singles, couples and families. We will go again and spend longer there next time. We visited Cragside, a National Trust property which we think is the most interesting property we have ever visited. Lots to do for the children in its ground also and very educational too. We also climbed up from lake to Kielder Observatory. I shall review both of these separately.

Yet another very pleasant stay at the Redesdale Arms

JaneC912, Selby, United Kingdom
We have stayed at the Redesdale Arms before and we will return next time we visit Northumberland and the Borders. We keep going back because it is in a excellent location and within easy travelling distance of the places we wish to visit, the rooms are comfortable and the food is very good, as is the beer - I'm not a beer drinker normally but even I love the 'Golden Plover'! - but the main reason we go back is the lovely owners and friendly staff - you really get the impression that nothing is too much trouble. This time we were in a twin room at the back of the building. The room was not as big as the rooms on the front but was fine for our requirements. After the first night we were asked whether we wanted to move rooms as some larger family parties had left and a larger room was available. I explained that we were happy to stay where we were but we really appreciated the fact that we were asked - typical of the consideration with which everyone at Redesdale treats their guests. We would recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in the area.
