For more than 100 years, Alnwick Playhouse has been a cornerstone of community life in Alnwick. Established as an important part of the town since 1920 and flourishing as a vibrant arts centre since 1990, it continues to inspire, entertain and bring people together through a rich programme of arts and cultural experiences.

Situated just outside Alnwick's historic town walls in the heart of Northumberland, Alnwick Playhouse is a popular destination for both residents and visitors, offering an exciting mix of live entertainment, cinema, exhibitions and community facilities.

The Playhouse Gallery
Located on the first floor, The Playhouse Gallery showcases an ever-changing programme of exhibitions celebrating artists from across the North East. The gallery also hosts events including arts & crafts workshops and meet the artist.

Food & Drink
Make the most of your visit by enjoying refreshments in The Playhouse Kitchen or relaxing with a drink in The Playhouse Bar. The café serves a tempting selection of freshly prepared lunches, homemade cakes and hot drinks, with favourites including the cheese and house tomato chutney toastie and the delicious red velvet cake. It's the perfect place to meet friends or enjoy a bite to eat before an evening performance.

In addition to its entertainment and hospitality offerings, Alnwick Playhouse is also home to the town's library and visitor information services, making it a welcoming cultural hub at the heart of Northumberland.
