Friday 15th August and Saturday 16th August 2025 | 19:00 | Ad Gefrin
On 15th and 16th August, head to the Great Hall at Ad Gefrin at 7 pm for Kith and Kin. This warm-hearted solo show centres on a day in the life of an everyday Saxon woman living in Wessex. Set in the 9th century, the day turns out to be unexpectedly and spectacularly anything but ‘everyday’. From milking a stubborn cow to seeing off Viking invaders and preparing for a great feast, this innovative and immersive performance revives the Great Hall and the vibrant community who knew it in a truly one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
Drawn from extensive research and performed in an exciting mix of spoken and sung Modern English and Old English, Kith and Kin is heartfelt, playful, humorous and stirring - a true delight for adults and young people aged six years and over.
