Heavenly views across Northumberland with stylish accommodation to match
Ilderton Dod Barns at Ilderton Dod are situated in Northumberland National Park, apparently built in the 1600s when life was lived at a slower pace. They’re a mile-and-a-half up a private farm track but for those that require it, there is 4G mobile phone coverage!
The converted farm buildings are in the middle of an 1800-acre working hill farm so you may well see action involving tractors, sheep, cattle and working collies during your stay. Close by The Barns is the original farm house, a small cottage sometimes occupied by a gamekeeper.
Except in extreme weather, the track is accessible in any car. We expect that many people will choose to arrive on foot or by bike as we are so close to many footpaths (including Penine Way) and bike routes (Sandstone Way, NCN route 68, Cheviot Orbital etc.)
