Luxurious elegance and a contemporary spirit at Walwick Hall

Walwick Hall, a boutique country house hotel nestled in 100 acres of stunning Northumberland countryside and placed on Hadrian's Wall, blends the comfort and elegance of an English country retreat with a modern spirit to offer guests a unique, luxury experience that's a world away from the norm.

18th century Walwick Hall, a Grade II listed building, has undergone an 18-month multi-million-pound renovation under the watchful eye of owner Rachel Batson. The hall, together with Chesters Stables became part of the Chesters House estate in 2014, and the Harrison Partnership was formed to run the operation of the Hotel as well as the 100 acres of land adjoining it.

The interiors take the history and heritage of Walwick Hall and subtly marry them to exceptional modern design detailing; creating a refined atmosphere with a modern spirit. It's this combination of old and new that Walwick Hall has captured as the essence of this luxury brand.

If you're more luxury than low-key, each of Walwick Hall's ten individually designed rooms will be a little spot of paradise. A mixture of suites and deluxe bedrooms, each has its own distinctive personality carefully curated to celebrate uniqueness and modernity whilst, at the same time, perfectly complementing the original character of this boutique country hall.

The luxury suites command sweeping views over the gardens and across the valley to Northumberland. Each one has an extra-large marbled bathroom with freestanding bath and a separate walk-in shower as well as luxurious Elemis bathroom products.

If you're looking for good British food in a sophisticated, but relaxed setting, The Dining Room at Walwick Hall is just for you thanks to classically-trained head chef, Steven Murray. His menu blends quality ingredients from the Northumbrian larder and fresh vegetables from Walwick's kitchen garden, with the latest international gastronomic techniques.

The kitchen has developed key partnerships with skilled local artisan suppliers like Scotts, award-winning butchers in Ponteland village, who have helped create unique Walwick specialities, such as their very own bangers. Other premium suppliers include Lauder fine foods for delicious salmon, and dairy from Northumberland Pedigree in Slaley, famous for their prize-winning pedigree Shorthorns and Ayrshires.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served in The Dining Room making the most of its unique ambience. A choice of two Afternoon Teas are available, a classic and a Northumbrian, both are served in the comfort of the Drawing Room in front of a roaring fire or a large bay window which overlooks the beautiful Northumberland countryside.
