The Joiners Arms is your very own village inn; a haven for lovers of fresh, locally sourced food served up with a contemporary flourish and drinkers of all tastes, from crazy cocktails to comforting real ales. Plus, we're big into families, so kids get to eat, rest and play with everyone else.

The Joiners Arms Restaurant is lively, friendly and a little bit quirky, and the perfect place to hang out when you're not engaged in spectacular coastal adventures or hiding out in your luxe Northumberland boutique bedroom.

We are located in one of the UK’s most beautiful places, in the heart of a National Trust-designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) which fuses the best of both worlds – spectacular countryside and a breathtaking coastal location just an hour from the metropolitan hearts of Newcastle to the south and Edinburgh to the north.

Our 5 Gorgeous boutique bedrooms are individually designed to put the luxe into luxury inns, with irresistible charms like four-poster beds, roll top baths and lots of room for love.

We’re only a couple of miles from the spectacular Farne Islands, famed for its bird life and Atlantic grey seals (boat trips from nearby Seahouses are wild and memorable!); Alnwick Castle and Gardens, home of the first two Harry Potter films; Holy Island, a little gem easily reached across a causeway (just watch the tide...), and some of the best surfing and water sports, golf, field spots, walking and country pursuits you could wish for.

We hope to welcome you to Northumberland’s most luxury Inn soon.

The food was great the staff were friendly but one female member behind the bar taking too a local used a little bad language and this is a family place, but overall we liked it especially there was a cocktail not on the menu but they did make them for us

Wedding weekend

We stayed in the sebastia for one nite before moving to newton hall. This has to be the nicest room we have every stayed in. The check in was quick and the staff brilliant. Nothing to much trouble , especially Andrew. The room was everything and more. It was absolutely huge and the bath was divine. We treated ourselves to the summer dreams. It's gorgeous smells in the bath along with strawberries chocolate and a bottle of prosecco for £35 . Worth every penny. Bath was ran for us and they even included chocolate fudge cake on the board with the strawberries . Yummmm. The bed was huge and comfy and the shower was great. There was all these little touches like make your own cocktail in the room. Instructions and ingredients provided free, as well as coffee tea and shortbread. Chocolates on pillow too. Food was beautiful, service quick and friendly. Fish and chips were to die for., breakfast on same level. Mmmm. Highly highly recommended. We are planning a return soon. If I had to chose between here and newton hall, I would have to say here, even though newton hall was lovely, I think here was just that bit more special, maybe as smaller place and more intimate. Treat yourself and ask for the sebastia. You won't be disappointed

Tasty fishy meal

Cynthia D,
We enjoyed a very pleasant meal on Tuesday 16th July. The food was memorable and I'd recommend this restaurant. My only complaint (probably because I'm out of date with current parlance!) was that, when I had placed our order for food and wine, the waiter said "No problem". Now then, why should there be a problem? Could he not have just said "Thank you" or something like that? I found it very annoying. And then the constant questioning of whether the food was OK. I like attentive staff but not when they are interfering with our appreciation of the meal. This is a quality restaurant and I would expect better staff training on how to serve customers.

A Fabulous evening

Marie Ann S,
We chose this restaurant to celebrate our daughters 40th birthday and was not disappointed. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. The staff were very friendly. Our waitress showed us to our table, introduced herself left us to browse the menu. The food was excellent and presented well. A special touch of a dessert for the birthday girl to enjoy followed dinner and we left feeling very satisfied. An excellent restaurant and very worthy of the visit.
