Family New Year

japat29, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
We were a group of family and friends who stayed for three nights at this well equipped, very comfortable, warm and clean bunkhouse over the New Year period. The bunkhouse is very spacious, well laid out and is a brilliant location for access to village amenities and local walks. The kitchen has vast supplies of cooking utensils, cutlery and plates/bowls etc. There is ample supply of logs for the log burner which gives off lots of heat however with central heating and underfloor heating in kitchen/shower rooms it's not needed much but it's still lovely to have on, Thank you to the couple who run this bunkhouse and especially for the flour that was borrowed for the dumplings for our soup :-) it was much appreciated. We will certainly return either separately or as a family gathering again.

Demesne Farm Campsite & Bunkhouse replied: Thank you for your kind review, happy new year again to you all, Margaret & Robert

Weekend away with the work team

DuncanYorkshire, Yorkshire
What an amazing place - in a beautiful part of the country. The bunkhouse is so well equipped and spacious, 11 of us had a fabulous weekend there with the log burner in gorgeous surroundings. Would definitely recommend and I am sure we will use again, simply perfect.

Comfortable well equipped bunk house

Timothy W,
A very well presented and maintained bunk house. £20.0 per night. Large kitchen. Comfortable lounge. 2 showers and 2 toilets ground floor. 5 minutes walk from the Post office and Co-op supermarket. Bus to/from Hexham runs houry weekdays. ATM machine outside supermarket. Plenty of pubs. Walk up to the waterfall.

Beautiful camping spot spoilt by local rotten, filthy teenagers

Dean P,
This was my first time taking my teenage daughter camping so as you can imagine, I was beyond excited in making this a very special trip. Even with all the wind whilst setting up the tent, this added to our brilliant bonding time. We walked to the local pub as my daughter needed WiFi to update her snap chat. On return we settled down to sleep then out of nowhere two teenage idiots began shouting very rude comments that a 15 year old girl should not be hearing, let alone an adult. After advising her to ignore them and that they would go away, they soon began throwing stones at my tent. That is when I lost it and ran out of my tent and proceeded to chase these punks across two fields and up two roads. On my return I reported this to the site manager who explained that this was an isolated incident. Fortunately my daughter weren't shaken up and she left the following morning very satisfied. One advice. Do not set up your tent to the far left where it backs up to the barb wire fencing. Further up that field is a stone wall with a break in it. That is where those teenage idiots decided it was a good idea to throw stones from.
