Lovely relaxing break.

nick4377,
We stayed here in March. The lodge was lovely and warm for us on our arrival. The park itself was well maintained with lots of activities to do if you wanted. There is a shop with lots of stock ( make sure you take plenty of things with you because there are no other local shops) It was our first time at Kielder and was a lovely relaxing break. It is a very remote area, but if you enjoy peace and quiet with lots of wonderful walks then its definitely worth visiting. The only downside was a group of young people partying and making quite a lot of noise next to our lodge.

Back for the 3rd year and booked for the 4th

Caroline s, Wakefield, United Kingdom
As from the title, you can see we love to come back to these lodges. Our 3 rd year and we love it more each time. The lodges are lovely and well equipped, clean and fairly modern. We stayed in one of the newer lodges (49). A great place to rest and relax after a day in the forest. This year we took our dog. We were a little disappointed to find no provisions for him. No bed, no bowls, no toys or treats. This meant he slept on the furniture and ate from the bowls in the lodges. We use lodges as a holiday a lot and have visited other landal lodges where al, the dog items were provided. I would really recommend you either provide these or at least state when you book that you need to bring your own. Also we noticed that there were very few dog waste bins in the areas. We saw a lot of dog waste bags left by tree stumps as none were provided.apart from in the car park. Other things we noticed this year was the bed was really soft and uncomfortable, like the mattress needed replacing and the knives were blunt in the kitchen. Nothing that has put us off from booking again. We love this place. Love the activities, the pool and the boat inn. If you are looking for a holiday we’re you can switch off and relax, walk and explore, with or without kids, this is the one.

Amazing

Just returned from a weekend with 14 members of our family and have to say it was absolutely amazing... 10 out of 10 . I would like to give a special mention Ryan who took us through the safety/training for the archery/Segway’s and zorbs he made it all a fantastic experience. Another special thanx to Shaun from the Boat Inn who was friendly and lovely with our elderly disabled mother. We will be returning .

Shockingly good accommodation

paultI2261CS, Horsham, United Kingdom
We stayed at Kielder Water in one of their lodges & I was highly impressed with the quality of the accommodation. Very spacious - we stayed in a two bedroom, two bathroom lodge with a kitchenette, dining area, lounge & hall - & very high quality & obviously pretty new (apparently 2 years old). When we turned up at our lodge I thought it was semi-detached it was so large, but no, it was all ours! All the fixtures & fittings were excellent quality & in great condition. The lodges were spaced out with no one too close (especially useful as we used the hot tub a couple of times, despite the snow). Difficult to fault. We didn't use too many of the many facilities provided in the park as we were using it as a base to visit the nearby Kielder Observatory (well worth a visit too if astronomy even half interests you). I'd imagine the park gets very busy in school terms as it has lots to do with much to occupy families.

Avoid. Massive disappointment.

AT132, Pontefract, United Kingdom
So we booked and paid for a lodge and hot tub for a short break away. The site is located in a beautiful part of the UK away from the hustle and bustle. On arrival our lodge appeared really smart but our impressions fell when we found the toilet seat unclean with dried poop on the lid. We were looking forward to using the hot tub which wasn’t one of the log fired types but hadn’t been pre heated. With the external temperatures being low, we waited while Sunday before we could use the hot tub which was disappointing when we had to check out by 10am the next day. The instructions for the coffee machine in the lodge instruction pack was for a different machine? There is no phone signal and the WiFi is as reliable as the long term weather forecast. It was pants. We contacted the company and they weren’t interested with our concerns. Avoid and book elsewhere.
