Appalling communication

We were staying on Holy Island AKA linsisfarne last week. Thought we would try this place for the first time. As some will know there is a small window of opportunity to leave the island and return due to tide times, So, we phoned ahead to reserve a table and were told no problem its quiet tonight just walk in. On arriving we were told Oh no we have a party or 32 to serve sorry. So we now had a choice of returning to the island and a cheese sandwich or driving rapidly to the Black Bull five miles down the road ..and as it happens an excellent plan B ...Just enough time for a main course and a pint but once let down like that will not return next year

Long weekend at the Inn

We stayed at the Lindisfarne Inn 14 -16 June 2019. The rooms are really clean. The beds are really comfortable and the ladies in the restaurant are lovely. Highly recommended. Very convenient for local attractions.

Disappointing Late Lunch

Stopped here yesterday on way home from Sunderland for a late lunch. Nice cosy restaurant. However we ordered and paid for 3 light lunches and a starter, specifically chosen for the toasted ciabatta, no mention that they had run out of ciabatta. Well after we had placed our order, paying in advance,, the grumpy waitress told us there was no ciabatta, and would bread be ok. Somewhat disappointed we opted for brown bread. When it did arrive it was untoasted cheap bread, what a disappointment, expected a better quality.. The waitress did offer to toast bread but the sandwiches were already in front of us and made up. Cheap Bread, with crab pate, no dip, very disappointing. My husband had a club sandwich, cheap bread, not toasted, served with hard chips. If we had been offered a discount or we had been told before we had placed our order we would have made a different choice.

No Food at the Inn

Staying nearby on a walking trip so rang up and asked to book a table for dinner. We were told that there was no need to book, but when we got there we were then told that we could not be served as they had 32 people for dinner. This is not the way to treat customers as we were not the only people who had been told the same. This can not be the way to run a business and there seemed to be tables for at least twice that number. So future customers be warned !!!!!!

Quite nice

It's a sort of 'and chips' place. The gammon special was really lovely, but it would have been nice to have a bigger choice of things without chips. Loved the huge booths, ordering system was a bit confusing as well, they have gone for down the Nando's route of you having to order at the bar. Took us a while to realise that
