Dark skies stay

We had a great time. Lodge was lovely. The staff were really helpful. It helped the pub was dog friendly. Great walks around the area. A tip would be to take some cash just in case the card machines stop working. The nearest cash point is a few miles away.
Excellent would recommend it to any one
Lodge was was excellent better than what expected for the price of a three night stay for four adults. The staff on site and the pub restaurant were friendly and helpful would definitely go back
Amazing location and fantastic service
We had a fantastic stay from start to finish. Genuinely friendly, helpful staff (I had a problem with the lights which turned out to be my ineptitude, but I called reception and a maintenance man was at the lodge in 90 seconds, on a Sunday, in a snow storm!!), great lodges which were clean and modern, with lots of little extra touches which firstly are very handy and secondly make it special. It's clearly been very well thought out. Lots to do in the local area via a short drive, or just nice walks out from the lodge itself. The on site pool is not massive, but well kept and warm and kept our toddler entertained. The on site pub was also very good (see separate review). I'd return in a heartbeat.
Could have been cleaner
The cabin we stayed in was poorly maintained and very dirty. We arrived to have to wash plates etc before we could use them and to a sofa that was past its best. We let this go and moved on. The hot tub was the highlight for us but the outside area again was dirty and poorly maintained. We decided to have a bath with the jets on. Before getting in we noticed when we put the jets on mould would appear in the water. Disgusting. In the second bathroom the shower was also surrounded by mould and the floor had mould on it too. The curtains were dirty and one of the bedrooms had men’s underwear under the bed. Definitely not ours! The site itself is nice but the cabin was horrible and in the end we checked out early and came home
WISH WE COULD STAY LONGER
Just returned from a 4 night stay at kielder waterside (11th -15th March), staying in Beech Premier Spa, lodge number 41. Lodge was amazing and lovely and warm on arrival with television and fire on. Heating easy to control with thermostat on wall, 24 hours a day. All equipment and fittings of very high quality. The hot tub was brilliant, so quiet and relaxing at night. All staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of lovely walks, scenery and wildlife on site.Time went in so quickly.
