Dog Friendly and beyond!

A fantastic nights stay at Battlesteads. We booked a lodge room, and couldn’t have been happier with the standard of the accommodation. Our dog Harris was well catered for with a towel, treats, food and blankets so he could have a cosy night too. The room was spotless and the extra touches like fruit, homemade biscuits and sweets for our daughter just made it that but more special. We are in the restaurant and the food was great, and it was the same quality at breakfast.

A couple of minor maintenance issues with room & garden area, but all in all a great place. Food up there with some of the best we have sampled over the years, chef Eddie a star & a really nice guy. Chilled 😊

Fabulous weekend

The Battlesteads Hotel is a great place to stay when touring the unspoilt County of Northumberland. Easy friendly staff, delicous home or locally produced food, cosy small hotel with fine wines & a great selection of craft beers. All very good value for money. To the owners of this fine hotel, well done & thank you

excellent hotel, would highly recommend

We stayed here for one night late May 2019. We booked through and it cost us £160 for one night including breakfast for a family room. The room we were given was room 9. Upon arrival, check in was quick and we were shown to our room by a member of staff. The room was huge and very well presented. There was a large King sized bed and a sofa bed for our 14 yr old son. The ensuite was large, clean and well presented with complimentary toiletries. We had a bath with shower over, shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. In the room was a TV, tea/coffee etc, complimentary fresh fruit and water and our son was given an activity pack (too young for him but a nice thought) of a colouring pack, capri-sun, twix bar and stickers. There was plenty of space in a wardrobe, dressing table and a series of drawer units. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, we booked on arrival and there was no problem accommodating us. Menu was varied and well presented. I had rib eye steak, my husband had ox cheek and my son had Cajun chicken, we all had a desert and these were very much enjoyed. Total food bill came to around £80 with 2 large soft drinks and 2 non-alcohol beers. Breakfast in the morning was fresh, cooked to order and delicious. The traditional English breakfast was available alongside cold fruits, cereals, breads and toast, fresh fruit juice, tea and coffee. We were really pleased that this hotel takes environmental concerns seriously, they recycle everything possible, use food waste to compost and use renewable forms of energy. All in all, we would visit again. It's not a cheap option but you get what you pay for and this was definitely a great experience.

Spoilt from start to finish

We stayed in one of the lodges which was absolutely sleek, spacious and spotless with its own decking area with furniture for fine weather. The bar and restaurant area's again are nicely designed with staff who really know how to look after you. The food is both of high quality and a plenty. We've enjoyed it so much that we are now planing a stay later in the year having just returned from our 1st trip today. In every department the staff are fantastic, a credit to Battlesteads.
