Thu 25 - Sun 28 July 2024 | Various Times | St. Andrew's Church, Corbridge, NE45 5AA
The Corbridge Chamber Music Festival has brought world class chamber music to Tynedale for over 25 years. Spread over four days in late July, our concerts range from classics of the repertoire to new discoveries.
Joining Artistic Directors, the Gould Piano Trio and clarinetist Robert Plane, this year is super star, Grammy award winning bandoneon player JP Jofre, who brings hos own unique style of Tango to the North-East for the first time. Surely a unique experience not to be missed!
We also welcome internationally acclaimed soprano Claire Booth. Claire will sing songs by Dvorak and Debussy, as well as taking centre-stage in Schoenberg's rarely-performed masterpiece Pierrot Lunaire. Claire is a world-renowned interpreter of this magical piece and we're thrilled to share this one-off event with our audiences.
We have a free 'Pierrot Unmasked' pre-concert talk to unveil some of the secrets of this work before the performance.
If you're a keen amateur musician then our Come and Play event is just the thing for you! There's the opportunity to play and perform Haydn's jubilant Symphony no.99 alongside all the Festival Musicians, under the guidance of Gould Trio cellist Richard Lester. JP Jofre will also make an appearance, giving the orchestra a unique chance to accompany a Tango virtuoso!
We have concerts at all times of day, including a late night, cafe-style relaxed event at Corbridge Parish Hall, where you can enjoy a programme of popular classics inspired by the Americas whilst enjoying a drink and nibbles.
