Walk down the wooden steps, meander across the stepping stones and come face to face with the big green round door (made totally from reclaimed timber). Then walk in through sliding glass doors to the living/dining/kitchen area (these sliding doors enable the cold to be shut out whilst sitting on the comfortable Chesterfield soaking up the view or being fascinated by the dark starry skies). The living area boasts a Salamander Hobbit woodburning stove which will keep you warm and toasty, no matter what the temperature is outside. The dining table, again made from reclaimed wood and an old tree stump, is almost as awesome as the stone sink on the handmade wooden pedestal in the bathroom and the unique bed heads in both of the 2 bedrooms. One bedroom has a king-size bed and the other 2 singles with a third mezzanine that folds down for a child. The full DVD box set of Lord of the Rings is provided for guests to enjoy whilst living in their own Shire (AbbotShire) in the picturesque Scottish Borders.
However AbbotShire ‘Hobbit Style’ Glamping Lodge is functional as well, offering a few home comforts such as kitchen with 2 ring hob, microwave/conventional oven, fridge freezer, TV and DVD players in the living area and master bedroom, bathroom with shower cubicle and flushing toilet and of course WIFI. Outside there is a lawned area with wooden garden furniture, an open fire pit and also BBQ with pizza oven.
AbbotShire ‘Hobbit Style’ Glamping Lodge lies in the quiet of the world, where there is less noise and more green (#Tolkien) yet only 17 miles from Kielder, 27 miles from Hadrian’s Wall and 24 miles from J44 M6 at Carlisle. Book your very own magical Shire adventure at www.bordersglamping.co.uk
