Exploring Northumberland’s awe-inspiring landscape makes for a healthy appetite, and what’s nicer than to eat out of doors? There’s a wealth of local produce to enjoy and so many beautiful and diverse settings in which to relax and take in the view.

We've have done some ground work and put together some tips and locations for perfect picnics. We asked people country-wide where they would go for a Northumberland picnic and what they would choose to put in their hamper; the results were as varied as our county’s landscape and have been divided into five themes: Coast, Castles, Hills, Hadrian’s Wall and the Miners’ picnic.
