We are a popular stopping place for walkers on the Hadrian's Wall route in the very pleasant Tyne Valley. When staying at Wormald House, walkers are either first beginning or just finishing their route. We have drying facilities and can provide packed lunches plus a free pick-up/drop off service to Hadrian's Wall at Heddon and Wall houses. Wylam is an attractive village and is of particular interest to railway enthusiasts with George Stephenson's birthplace being within 1 mile of Wormald House and a small but very informative Railway Museum. All village pubs are within easy walking distance. There are many pleasant walks along the riverside and we are just 3 minute's walk from the railway station. So easy then to visit the centre of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Gatesheads' Metrocentre.
