According to local folklore, Blenkinsopp Castle is haunted by the "White Lady", believed to be the widow of Bryan de Blenkinsopp. Legend has it that he abandoned her after she refused to reveal the location of a treasure chest she had hidden.
There is ample parking available for guests, including the added benefit of spaces suitable for motorhomes, a rare and welcome feature for travellers touring the area.
