Summer of Play at Seaton Delaval Hall

Step into a summer of fun, theatricality, drama and mischief at Seaton Delaval Hall. Inspired by the Delavals’ Georgian love of spectacle and surprise, expect pop-up activities and playful moments across the site all summer long.

Get stuck into seven high-energy play zones, with sporty challenges, races and games to get everyone moving. Clamber over the hay bale scramble, test your balance and enjoy energetic, active play on the South Lawn with the the Delaval Games Chest and giant versions of the classics like four-in-a-row and tower block building.

Plus, enjoy a host of additional pop-up activities, led by some of the region's most fun artists! Run away to the circus with Let’s Circus!, chase, catch and pop bubbles of all shapes and sizes with our resident bubbleologists, BubblePlaY, Seaton Delaval Hall inspired puppet theatre from Theatre Sprout and family comedy from top North East comedian, Lee Kyle and friends. Celebrate Family Pride with Curious Arts, enjoy wild art workshops with local artist, Mim Robson and meet roaming giant troll puppet, Trolliver, from puppeteer Georgia Hill. With so much to do, you’ll be back to enjoy something different every week!

Play zones are available all day, every day and included with your membership or standard admission. Pop-up events and activities are on specific dates only check website for details. All are drop-in, free with your National Trust membership or standard admission and no booking required. The exception is Young Gardeners in the Community Kitchen Garden, which is free and drop-in (admission not required and not included).
