Hexham Abbey Festival of Music & Arts
Wednesday 23 - Sunday 27 September 2026 | Hexham Abbey, Hexham, NE46 3NB
Founded in 1953, the annual Hexham Abbey Festival of Music & Arts presents a programme that includes classical music of early to contemporary periods, jazz, folk, world music, improvisation, poetry, film and dance.
This year’s offering is rich in journeys, musical and actual, crossing continents and oceans, delving deep into the distant past and bringing remote corners of the globe vividly to mind.
There’s something for all tastes, from Latin American guitar, Baroque piano and stirring Beethoven to soaring choral harmonies, Arab/Scottish folk melodies, protest songs, and a sensational film about the explorer Ernest Shackleton.
The programme can be found here – a glorious long weekend of live music in the heart of Hexham!
Tickets for events taking place in the Abbey can be purchased from the Queen’s Hall Box Office, Hexham.
