Meet Father Christmas at Whitehouse Farm near Morpeth as they kick things off early with Santa's Enchanted Elf Journey, running from 21st November right through to Christmas Eve, giving families plenty of chances to fit it in around other festive plans.
Over in Hexham, their Santa Experience at Moot Hall runs from 25th November to Christmas Eve too, making it an easy addition to a day of Christmas shopping in the town.
Wallington Hall, Gardens and Estate, near Morpeth, has gone all in this year with a full programme to suit different families. There's the classic Father Christmas Experience from 5th to 21st December, a Walkaround Father Christmas on selected weekends (5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd December), a Pre-school Father Christmas session on 15th December for the very little ones, and a lovely touch, a Quiet Father Christmas on 13th and 22nd December, designed with sensory-sensitive children in mind.
Further west, Matfen Hall's Santa's Grotto runs from 4th to 20th December, and on the coast at Blyth, their Santa's Workshop Party offers a lively festive celebration on 23rd December from 1pm to 3pm.
The magic of Christmas returns to Bamburgh Castle from 28th November to 22nd December, where Father Christmas welcomes children into his beautifully decorated grotto for a truly unforgettable experience within the castle walls.

For families who love a good steam train, Northumberland delivers two brilliant options this year. The Aln Valley Railway in Alnwick runs its Santa's Steam Train Adventure across three weekends, 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th and 21st December, chuffing through the countryside with Santa on board.
Meanwhile, over at Ford and Etal, the Heatherslaw Light Railway is running its Christmas Specials on 5th and 6th December, a great way to spend a winter weekend in Northumberland.

If you're after something a little bigger, Kielder Winter Wonderland transforms the forest into a festive spectacle from 28th November through to 23rd December, and with Kielder's dark skies and dramatic scenery as a backdrop, it's one for the whole family to enjoy.

For families wanting to make a real occasion of it, Langley Castle near Hexham is offering the chance to Meet Santa and enjoy Afternoon Tea on 13th December, a proper treat in a genuinely stunning setting. And over at Willow Farm in Cramlington, Dinner with Santa runs on 21st and 22nd December, combining a festive meal with a visit from the main man himself.
