Saturday 14th February 2026 | 5pm - 7.30pm | The First and Last Brewery Tap Room, Bellingham NE48 2DA
Join Curius Compass and The First & Last Brewery for a relaxed Valentine’s evening celebrating darkness done properly. Enjoy a short guided dusk walk through the Northumberland landscape, exploring the night sky with a bit of tech that helps us see it, followed by a behind-the-scenes brewery tour and a tasting of brilliantly brewed local beers, all wrapped up in great company.
Part of the North East Dark Skies Festival, this event invites you to slow down, look up, and (re)discover the beauty of the dark skies above Northumberland. Perfect for couples, singletons, beer drinkers, designated drivers (soft drinks available), and anyone who wants to avoid the Valentine’s crowd and do something a little different.
Getting There and Back (easy and car-free)
Catch the 15:50 680 bus from Hexham. Return on the 19:40 680 bus back to Hexham.
Travel by public transport, show us your ticket, and enjoy 10% off your first beer in the Tap Room.
Need a lift home? Book Tarset Valley Taxis.
Why not make a Night of it: Stay for dinner and a cosy night at The Cheviot Hotel or Riverdale Hall Country House Hotel.
Why not make a Day of it: Arrive early to enjoy Tea on the Train, a visit to the Heritage Centre Bellingham and then a pre-walk drink in the Tap Room.
We can’t guarantee the weather, but we can guarantee warm welcomes, excellent beer, and a cracking way to spend a February evening in Northumberland.
