Berwick Barley Workshop

Wednesday 7 October | Wednesday 21 October | Saturday 7 November | The Old Brewery Artist Studios

The workshops involve:
🌾 Barley’s history: How barley shaped farming, food and brewing around Berwick and the Borderlands.
👩‍🍳 Hands-on cooking: Participants make dishes using barley and learn about its versatility.
🍽️ Lunch: You get to eat what you have prepared, alongside other local Borderland food and drink.
🏛️ Historic setting: It takes place at The Old Brewery, 53 Main Street, Tweedmouth, a fitting location given Berwick’s long brewing and malting traditions.
⏱️ Length: About 2 hours, ages 18+.

Barley has deep roots in the area: grain was historically traded through Berwick, while barley is still malted at the Tweed Valley Maltings in Tweedmouth today, principally for whisky production.
