The award-winning Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre is one of the best wildlife watching spots in the North East. Built by volunteers, it’s a story in itself, but the wildlife is fantastic, a haven for breeding and migrating birds, red squirrels and even otters!
There’s the Lookout café to enjoy a brew with a view, discovery trails, bird hides, a circular walk and a natural play area for the under 10s. We run a host of events including regular wildlife talks, workshops, family activities and school programmes - check out what's on by visiting our website.

There is no entry fee but all donations are welcome to help with upkeep of the site and facilities.
A small parking fee applies for all visitors.
