Created following opencast mining on the site, this picturesque lake sprinkled with islands is home to a wide variety of breeding birds, especially terns and is a popular spot for migrating waders.

Our public open weekends allow you the opportunity to see the progress we are making on our innovative new visitor centre and other site improvements. We will endeavour to open footpaths to allow access to hides where possible. Free event but donations welcome. This is a Dynamic Druridge event.

Please visit our other reserves along the bay: www.nwt.org.uk/reserves
