In aid of benchmark at Grinham's Wood a local community charity initiative as featured in the book 'Tweed Trail Challenge'.
James Herriot - Author & Amateur Photographer
Tweed Trail Challenge features a collection of moments and images captured by James and his wife Debbie during their journey along the Lower Tweed. Although photography is a keen interest, James considers himself an enthusiastic amateur beside the likes of Ronnie Hek and Ollie Cowgill. His first book, The Sabbatical, paired imagery with narrative, and this new book reflects further refinement of the approach.
In the introduction to his second book, Insights to Kitchen Design, James explains that he was most likely dyslexic - something unrecognised during his school years - which gave him a strong ability to visualise plan in 3D and in colour, imagery and creativity remain central to his process, and Tweed Trail Challenge clearly reflects that.
Ronnie Hek - Wildlife Photographer
Ronnie is one of those rare people with many talents - sing-songwriter, raconteur, tartan designer, metal detectorist and, above all, a passionate wildlife photographer. His remarkable images bring Tweed Trail Challenge to life in a way I (James Herriot) could never achieve myself. His contribution has been invaluable. To see more of Ronnie's work, follow him on Facebook and Instagram or visit his exhibition at Chainbridge Honey Farm (Horncliffe), featured in Chapter 3.
Ollie Cowgill - Drone Pilot Photographer
Ollie, a Horncliffe local and tech wizard, has become a master drone pilot and photographer. The stunning aerial imagery throughout Tweed Trail Challenge - all courtesy of Mr Ollie Cowgill - speaks for itself. As someone who's firmly grounded with a camera, drone work is far beyond my abilities, and I'm immensely grateful for his expertise, effort and support. The book would be far poorer without him. Follow Ollie on social media at @Ollie-Cowgill.
If you enjoy our photographic exhibition or audio-visual presentation, we'd warmly encourage you to become a Friend & Supporter of Benchmark at Grinham's Wood and help the charity to continue its work.
